Your Makeup

December 1, 2020
by G Yancy
Mama I was looking at your beautiful picture that is posted on this page and I remember how Louella had me laughing. She told me she was with you when you took this glamour shot. She said how they fixed you up and put makeup and lipstick on you and you were in shock trying to wipe it off. Louella said she had to convince you that you looked good and to just take the picture. You never wore makeup before and was still beautiful and had the smoothest silk skin. Louella had me laughing because she said when you looked in the mirror and saw how you were all dolled up you said I can't take a picture like this because what is my husband going to say; it was so funny and we laughed for days about that. I love this picture and Pa-Pa loved it too. Sometimes you were comical in your serious moments. There are so many different memories that I am reminded of sometimes and I just laugh and think of all the good times. I thank GOD for all of the family time and treasured memories.

PaPa is still here

March 18, 2017
by G Yancy

I remember how my mama use to always talk about PaPa's driving. And the other day we went to visit someone in the hospital and the way that little man was driving that car I sure thought about my daddy (PaPa). He was trying to back out of a parking space and he kept going back and forward on his brakes trying to get out, after about 3 or 4 attempts he made it out. I told William that is PaPa he must still be here. So Mama is PaPa up there with you or is he still here with us? We had a good laugh. The bible tells us that laughter is good for the soul. As much as I loved my daddy I didn't want to get in the car with him either. But back in the day my dad was an excellent driver. He use to drive us to Louisiana and everywhere. I don't know what happened when he hit 70 years old. After that everyone that got in the car with him knew they were getting in at their own risk. LOL

Lee William's Concert

December 2, 2013

Bea, wanted to go to the Lee William's Concert, but know one was going but me (clarence). Bea was scared to ride with me, she said I drove to fast.
She had no other way to go but with me to the concert.   So she decided to ride with me, I picked her up and all the way to the concert she held on to the door knob. Did not say a word but she was praying all the time. She had a real good time at the concert.  On the way back home she did the same thing did not say a word but prayed all the way back. We made it home safely. When she opened the door then she said THANK YOU JESUS.   GLORY TO GOD.   This is my memory of my trip with Bea.  I miss you so much, i don't have anyone to speak french with. I know you are teaching the Angel's how to speak french.

Love you Baby Brother Clarence

Grocery Store visits...

March 19, 2012

I remember when me and Maw Maw would go to HEB, she would always look at the nutritional facts on the food cans. She took good care of herself and she taught me to look at the sodium and carbs and sugars in what I was putting into my body. I will always treasure and miss our grocery store visits! We would be in the store all day for 3 items because we had to read all food labels!...miss you Grandma!

Chu-Chute

December 22, 2011
by G Yancy

My mom was known for her cooking, she was an excellent cook. Chu-Chute was my mom's pet dog, he was a chow. There were a lot of times when people would come in her house and smell the sweet savor of food cooking. But the food was for Chu-Chute. Yes, Chu-Chute ate home cooked meals. He would not eat dog food, because he was accustomed to eating just as good as her family. I often came in the house and would say to MaMa; I'm hungry what are you cooking, and she would reply I'm cooking this for Chu-Chute. She would make special trips to the grocery store to buy meat especially for her dog. After she cooked the food she would take it outside to Chu-Chute and he would be so happy. She loved Chu-Chute and Chu-Chute loved her. We know Chu-Chute must have known she had passed away, because he stop eating and was very depressed and not long after that Chu-Chute died also.
