Her Life

The daughter of the late Johnnie Tolbert and Rosa Snipes Brenson, Mrs. Davis was born in Hurtsboro, AL. A resident of Brooklyn, New York, she was a member of First Baptist Church where she served in the choir, and was retired following 33 years of service from Cornell University Hospital as a Nursing Tech. Upon returning to Columbus she joined the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She was also an Eastern Star, Modern Free Affiliation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Davis.

Survivors include: one daughter, Evelyn Carroll; three grandchildren, Denise Smith (Michael), Candace Mitchell (Rodney) and Richard Rollins; nineteen great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, seven sisters, Ethel Shack, Rev. Mary Tolbert, Ola Long, Willie Frazier (Cleveland), Rosa Henderson (Nathaniel), Barbara Washington (Willie) and Frankie M. Harris; three brothers, Edward Tolbert, Shelly Tolbert (Alice) and Eddie Lee Tolbert (Ann); a life-long friend, James Smith, nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
