Bessie Mae “Honey” Foster was born in Union Springs, AL on October 16, 1927 to the late Robert and Jeanette Rodgers. She was united in matrimony to the late Sterling “Boss” Foster, who proceeded her in death in 1985. She spent her years taking care of her family and anyone else who needed her.

She was blessed with five children, one who proceeded her in death (Ethel Mae Smith Russell). Bessie leaves to cherish her memories: Willie Smith, Jr. (Julia) of Union Springs, Alabama, Sandra Thomas (Aurora) of Eufaula, Alabama, Arnita Bowens of Montgomery, AL, and Micheal Smith (Joeretta) of Auburn, AL; seven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lula Mae Simmons of Dade City, Florida and Annie Starks (Albert) of Columbus, GA; one brother: Willie Rodgers of Dade City, Florida; four sisters-in-law: Rosa Lee Rogers of Fort Myers, Florida, Seale Rodgers, of Mount Andrew, Alabama, Clara Rodgers and Annie Pearl Rodgers, both of Smuteye, Alabama; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
