Her Life

Mrs. Krause was born Tuesday, February 22, 1920, in London England. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a graduate of Auburn University with a Media Specialist Degree and worked as a Librarian and School Teacher. On June 7, 1947, she married Arno A. Krause in St. Louis Missouri. Mrs. Krause was an Equestrian, and avid reader and writer, trained in voice and theatre. Her writings included short stories, plays, poetry, and articles. Titles of her books included Maisie, Life’s a Joy, An Act of Suttee and The Reverend Queen Maisie. She was a member of the Pilot Club, Literacy Volunteers of America, reading and writing clubs and Painted Rock Arts Society.

Survivors include her sons Fr. Bruce J. Krause, CM, of Opelika, Alabama and Duncan C. Krause, PHD and his wife Robin R. Krause, MSN, RN, CNL of Athens, Georgia; her grandchildren, Kristen K. McMillan and her husband, Harrison of Durham, North Carolina and Robert W. Krause, MD and his wife Isela, BSN, of San Antonia, Texas; her great grandchildren, Aiden McMillan, Jude and Thomas Krause. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arno A. Krause, her parents, Charles T. and Elizabeth Drinkwater Applewhaite and her sister, Dorothy A. Morrell.
