Betty Briggs Cox, 79, a resident of Stem, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabel Ford Briggs, the widow of Joseph H. Cox, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a retired switchboard operator for the state of North Carolina.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will be in church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty C. “BJ” Oakley of Stem, Linda C Noelke (John) of Ft. Pierce, Fl., a son, David K. Cox (Becky) of Port St. Lucie, Fl., a sister, Joanne Clark, a brother, Howell Briggs, both of Berea, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 prior to the funeral service in the fellowship hall at the church.
