Betty J. Letendre, aged 87 years, of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away on January 29, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was raised in Springfield, MA, the only child to Ida and Louis Hallenstein.
Those who knew Betty knew Ernie and she loved the retirement home they built in Mullica Hill. She loved feeding the birds that would come everyday once they saw Mom in the morning. It was always a thrill for her to watch the turkey, rabbits and deer that she could see through the windows.
Along with Ernie, she raised Lynn, Doug and Jean in Pittsfield, MA and then Cherry Hill, until Ernie's retirement from GE.
Betty is dearly loved and was a kind and generous person, a devoted mother. She loved all animals, especially birds. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and mother. She taught her children the art of shopping and the appreciation of beautiful objects and antiques. It gave her great pleasure to shop for her children and grandchildren. She loved the freedom driving gave her and always cherished her privacy.
When her health began to fail, her devoted son Doug and his wife Tammy moved in with her to provide loving care.
Betty is the beloved wife of the late Ernest Letendre. Devoted mother of Lynn L. Forte and her husband Robert, Jean Letendre and her partner, Christopher Larson and Douglas P. Letendre and his wife Tammy. Loving grandmother of Nicole Clements, Jessica Lynn Letendre, Zachary Letendre and Shannan Kelly.
