Betty L. Darrow, 97, formerly of Shavertown and Dallas, died December 4, 2021 in New Jersey, where she has lived near her family since 2015. Born in Sweet Valley, PA, daughter of the late Ada Gordon and Joseph Lawrence Gordon.
Graduated from Laketon High School, attended Bloomsburg Teachers College. During WW2 she worked at Edgewood Arsenal Maryland, and later attended Wilkes Barre Business School.
Predeceased by Walter, her husband of 52 years; son Donald; brothers Eugene Gordon and Burton Gordon; sisters Carol Gordon, Shirley Kibler and Ada Kinney.
Survived by daughter, Peggy Letts (Charles) New Jersey; son James Darrow (Bernadette) Virginia; grandchildren Kelly, Melanie, Jacob, Jesse, and Jody; and great grandchildren Kayla, Megan, Frankie and Jenna. Also survived by sister Joyce Kuhn (Charles), and brother Carl Gordon (Lorraine), of Pikes Creek, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was a member of Trucksville Methodist Church, an avid gardener, played the piano all her life, and was a skilled seamstress. She will be interred at Idetown Cemetery. Funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
