One of the biggest blessings in my life has been Betty, my Mother-In-Law. Not only has she been there for me over the years but her love and involvement with all the grandchildren has been a wonderful influence on us all. I know you are with the Lord and whole once again and with our loved ones who have passed. I Love you and will dearly miss you.

Grandma Betty and Summers Spent in Dayton

September 25, 2012
by J B

My Grandma Betty was the most beautiful special woman in my life besides my mom pat who created this memorial.

I was blessed to have spent over 10 beautiful summers in Dayton Ohio as a child with Grandma Betty and Grandpa Lou. Grandma always greeted my brother Nick and I with home  made banners across their garage door welcoming her favorite Floridians...we spent each day filled with time around their dining table playing cards, slicing apples, painting pictures and eating yummy breakfasts cooked by grandma , I spent every birthday (June 12) with grandma and grandpa for over 10 years and those memories are enough to last a lifetime. My summers there catching fire flies and playing croquet are my most cherished and special time with Grandma and Grandpa. Every summer after just can't hold a candle to those filled with love, excitement, acceptance, learning, lots of reading and the feeling you get when everything is just ok and you are loved. That's the way my grandma made me feel, like everything was OK and I was loved just the way I was.

Losing my grandma betty has been a lump in my throat everyday since, I know she is in heaven and being called home to Jesus is where she is.

But every summer after those ones with her just don't measure up and nor do i think they ever will.

As I go through my life I will remember waking up in Dayton sleeping next to her ( grandma always lLOVed to sleep in!) in her room and being filled with excitement and comfort to be in a safe loving place. I cherish those memories and hold them close, closer than i'd admit to many. But grandma betty was the most loving accepting person and I'll miss her so very much.
