Betty Mildred Hall died peacefully in her sleep in Scottsdale, AZ on July 4th, 2017 following several years living life to the fullest despite her battles against Rheumatoid Arthritis and Alzheimer's disease. She was 84 years old.

Betty was born on November 28, 1932 in Detroit Michigan to Leslie and Elsie Huff and was raised in Royal Oak, MI. She worked as a secretary following her graduation from high school before leaving the workforce to marry her husband Jim and shift her focus to raising her children.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother who loved a good time and enjoyed entertaining and hosting parties for family and friends. She will be remembered for many fun events including the neighborhood games of Flashlight Tag on summer evenings and the Hiddenbrook Open Miniature Golf Tournament. She loved creating memorable experiences for her children, spending weekends at the beach cottage, camping or skiing and volunteering as troop leader for her daughter’s Blue Bird and Campfire Girls troops.

Betty loved sports and was an avid fan of Pro Football and College Basketball and enjoyed playing golf until she had to give it up due to her Rheumatoid Arthritis. She loved playing Bridge and was a fierce competitor, winning many tournaments. She developed her interest in Native American art after she moved to Arizona where she worked at the Heard Museum of American Indian art. Over the years she would amass a collection of Southwest Indian rugs, pottery and baskets. She shared her love of cooking and baking with her children and passed on her passion for entertaining. She taught her children to be compassionate, caring, loving and self sufficient by her actions throughout her life.

In 2016 she celebrated 62 years of loving marriage to her husband Jim. Their undying love and affection for each other was clear to all.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Karen Sarraga, of Sayville, NY, her son, Harold James (Jay) Hall III of Scottsdale, AZ her three grandchildren, Alex, Taylor and Lauren and her sister, Fran Elmore of Burlington, VT. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold James (Jim) Hall Jr., her father, Leslie Huff, her mother Elsie Huff Biske and her brothers, Donald Huff and Kenneth Huff.
