Mrs. Reeves was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on June 7, 1940, the daughter of the late Doris Lorene Bettis Reeves and Blakeley Reeves.

She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Ashland, Alabama.

Until her retirement she was employed by Wynn Dixie where she was a cashier.

Mrs. Betty was a comedian at heart and loved to make people laugh. She was a very talented artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. She could sit or hours listening to her favorite gospel and county music selections. Her most favorite moments though, were those spent with family and friends. She was a loving mother, companion, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Smith (Jerry) of Ashland, AL., and Debra Bullard of Sylacauga, AL.; companion, Gary Smelcer of Franklin, GA.; two sisters, Brenda Riggins of Sylacauga, AL., and Carol Tyler of Muscadine, AL.; two brothers, Jerry and James Reeves both of Sylacauga, AL.; one step son, Russ Smelcer Stone Mountain, GA; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
