DURING MY TIME OF BEING A STUDENT AT JOHN NICHOLS SCHOOL ON THE CAMPUS OF OXFORD ORPHANAGE, IT WAS AN HONOR TO KNOW , AND BE FRIENDS OF THE SUTTON FAMILY (FAYE, BETTY, ANN, & CLAYTON). BETTY WAS MY CLASSMATE. IN THE SUMMER OF 1967, UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF MR. GARLAND TALTON, WE TOOK DRIVER'S ED.  BETTY SUTTON & SHAWN STELL (ALSO DECEASED) & MYSELF WERE IN THE SAME CAR.  BETTY SCARED MR TALTON TO DEATH!!! WHEN IT CAME TIME TO APPLY THE BRAKES & STOP, BETTY WOULD GASP, SCREAM, AND THROW HER HANDS UP IN THE AIR, CAUSING MR. TALTON TO HAVE TO STOP THE CAR (BRAKES ON HIS SIDE). THAT WAS JUST ONE OF MANY GREAT TIMES SHARED WITH BETTY.  HER HUSBAND , WHO PASSED RECENTLY, WAS A GREAT COACH & TEACHER---AND ROLE MODEL. MAY COACH FLEMING & BETTY, ALONG WITH THEIR SON,  BOTH REST IN PEACE WITH THEIR LORD & SAVIOR!!!  AMEN.

Betty was truly a loving and kind person. She and I were classmates at North Duplin. She always had a smile and loved everyone. She has suffered for many years but is now at rest with her husband and son. A special thanks to Clayton (brother) and Sue Sutton for their caring for Betty after Jimmy died. May God Bless each of you is our prayer. Rest In Peace my dear friend Betty.
