Sister Bettye Jo Howard was born to the Mr. Lemuel Cunningham and the late Mrs. Essie M. Cunningham on December 3, 1948 in Alexander City, AL.
She transitioned into eternal life Monday, November 21, 2011.
Mrs. Bettye J. Howard completed her high school education at the Laurel High School May 7th 1967.
She confessed Christ early in life and joined the Friendship Baptist Church, Ourtown Community, Alexander City, Alabama.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. James E. Brooks on July 7, 1967. To the union one child was born, Mrs. Donna M. Mcghee. This union was departed by his death. On February 8, 1969, she was joined in Matrimony to Mr. Mack Howard Jr. for forty-two (42) grateful years. And to this union two children were born, Malcolm Howard and Vanessa Fleetion.
Mrs. Bettye Jo Howard was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister and daughter until her personal Savior whispered in her ear and servant well done. Come to me and be at rest.
Sister Howard leaves not to mourn, but to cherish her memories: A faithful, compassionate and devoted husband, Mr. Mack Howard Jr. of Alexander City AL. Three children: Mrs. Donna M. (Bernard) McGhee of Rockford, AL; Mr. Malcom W. Howard (Special friend, Ms. Veronica Holtzclaw) of Alexander City, AL; Mrs. Vanessa J. Fleetion of Alexander City, AL. A father, Mr. Lemuel Cunningham of Alexander City, AL. A mother-in-law, Ms. Willie C. Patterson of Kellyton, AL. Two sisters: Ms. Flora M. Graham and Mrs. Mary E. (Rev. Jesse) Mayes, both of Alexander City, AL. One brother, Mr. Terry Pearson of Panama City, FL. Six grandchildren: Kiara M. Moon of Mobile AL. Malcom W. Howard, Jr. and Jamal Malik Fleetion, both of Alexander City AL. Bernyya D. J., Joshua I. and James C. McGhee, all of Rockford AL. A special niece, Mrs. Amanda (Derrick) McClendon of Alexander City, AL Two devoted and loving cousins: Gwendolyn Lovejoy and Shirley McConnico. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

To Mr.Mack and the entire Howard and Cunningham famiy.. A sad feeling comes in my heart, when i think of Jo* that's who she was to us and so many.. I remember her smile greeted me at the door at moms B"day dinner just a few months prior.. We've laugh together, song together, fellowshipped together.. But now we have rejoice from the life she lived and legacy she left..God bless you now.
