Beverly and I were young friends, until about eight years old. She was my first and only friend at that time. I had so much fun playing with her. We played all day until sun down. I remember playing dolls. We used a bottle to make the doll and rope for hair. After making the doll, you could wash, comb and curl the hair. It was so much fun playing with that doll. By the way, when I read Beverly was magna cum laude from Paul Quinn College, l was not surprised. Beverly was a gifted student and a brilliant person. With sponsorship and a magnet school at an early age, the sky could not have limited her.
