TROY - Beverly J. (Fry) Beckner 84,  passed away on March 27th, 2024 at the Ohio Hospice facility in Troy and is now with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was born in Greenville, OH on January 29, 1940 to the late Donald Fry and Hazel (Beisner) Fry. She married Curtis Beckner on July 31,1960 and they spent 62 happy years together until his passing in 2022.

Their family was blessed with two sons, Mitch (April) Beckner, and Matt (Kim) Beckner, all of Troy, four grandchildren, Darcee (Dustin) Longstreet, Cincinnati, Ariel Beckner (Patrick Fryman), Alex and Casey Beckner, and one great-granddaughter, Alura Fryman, all of Troy. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Fry Jr.

Beverly graduated from Greenville High School in 1958. After she and Curtis married in 1960, they moved to Detroit, MI for several years before leaving to attend the Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute in Campbellsville, KY. When they returned to Ohio in 1970, they settled in Piqua to raise their family. 

Beverly worked at Piqua Paper Box for more than 20 years, making life-long friends during her time there. She was an avid gardener and loved to knit. Some of you may even have socks or animals that she gave as gifts. She and Curtis loved to study theology together. They organized and participated in various home and church Bible study groups. Along the way they made many new friends, always sharing their faith in the Lord.

The family would like to thank all of the friends and loved ones who became part of her life for their help and support. Visitation will be held at the Piqua Church of the Nazarene, 400 South Sunset Ave. from 5:00-6:00 pm. on Tuesday April 9th. A celebration of her of life will begin at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.
