Supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance

April 18, 2020
Following Beverly’s slow and painful recovery from her accident in 2012, she and all her family were determined to do all they could to raise funds for East Anglian Air Ambulance. This was in no small measure because the EAAA was instrumental in saving her life by transporting her to Addenbrookes Hospital.
I was honoured, and humbled, to be asked to accompany Philip and Beverly, with my husband Peter, when together we visited the Air Ambulance base so that Beverly could meet the crew and present them with a cheque from all the fundraising efforts. Beverly asked me to write a report and take photographs of her visit, so these could be submitted to local media to further raise awareness of the vital work of the EAAA. When Peter and I took over as the main organisers, supported by the town’s two Rotary Clubs, of the annual Christmas Tree Festival in St Peter’s, the Air Ambulance was chosen as one of the main recipients of funds raised that first year. Rest in Peace Beverly, it was an honour and a pleasure to be counted as your friend.
