We are thinking of you.
Happy birthday Bill!
Yuriko, Janet and Jenny"
"Please recall Kobe, Honolulu and Tokyo, I am same age and same birthday !!!"
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you today."
It's so hard to believe that you have been gone for 5 years.
Our daughters are lovely, bright and hard working.
Miss you! Yuriko"
"Thinking of you on father's day. I know how proud you were of your girls and how much you loved them. They are growing into beautiful successful young ladies and I know they miss you deeply."
"Today is your 60th. Hard to believe how fast the years have passed. Thinking of you and missing you on your special day.
Love, Nancy & Steven"
"Dear Bill / Daddy
Your 60th birthday is coming up soon.
This past four years has gone by so fast.
We are sorry we can't celebrate the birthday with you.
But we will be thinking of you.
Happy birthday and we miss you so much.
Lots of love, Yuriko, Janet and Jenny"
"Happy Birthday, Bill.
Thank you for being such a good friend when I was a newbie in Japan. And I really enjoyed our time together calling the NFL games on satellite TV in 1998.
You are in our memories, buddy."
"Wow, you've been gone for three years and today you would be 59. You never realize what an affect your life has until there is a missing piece. You have left two amazing daughters who will bless many others. A day to celebrate the day of your birth and reflect on all you contributed."
"I didn't know you have passed away.
You and I are same birthday, same age and had same favorites.
I deeply regret your soul went far away.
I want to see you again on the Waikiki Beach in the next world.
Just like in summer 1978."
"Don't know why I am thinking of you so much lately.....guess that just happens sometimes. My son's are all Spartans, the little boys play Big 10 rugby...you would have had a riot with them and they with you...my baby is in international relations and Ben is biomechanical engineering...they both have your wanderlust and are happiest when traveling and meeting new people and cultures, you were a role model for them even though you never had a chance to meet them...peace... and love"big" brother. XOXO"
"Forever still missed. Your in all our thoughts today on your Birthday.
We miss you so much.
You are always with us.
Love, Yuriko, Janet and Jenny"

"Bill was a good friend and connector who helped me find my two first jobs in Japan back in the 80s. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill at the 1985 Japan Open Racquetball Tournament where he was kind enough to give me his contact information and a kind "If I can ever be of help, give me a call." I took Bill up on that offer a few months later when I made the decision to live in Japan for "a year or two at most." Bill promptly followed through with an interview at a new English Conversation School that was opening up outside of Tokyo. I was promptly hired and spent two years teaching English and living in Hanno-shi in Saitama Prefecture. When I grew tired of teaching and sought to break out of the teaching world, Bill stepped up to the plate again, locating for me a job with a travel trade magazine. That job led to a long stay in Japan, one that I really owe to Bill. He also was gracious to provide me with discount prices on my racquetball gear. One of my fondest memories of Bill was the time we found ourselves in the studio of PerfecTV, calling NFL football play-by-play in Japanese! What a fun gig that was!
I miss Bill much and hope his family has been able to cope with their loss these past two years."
"Hard to believe it's already been one year:
There is always a face before me,
A voice I would love to hear,
A smile I will always remember,
Of a brother I loved so dear.
Deep in my heart lies a picture,
More precious than silver or gold,
It's a picture of my brother,
Whose memory will never grow old."
"I grew up with Bill in Muskegon, Michigan. Was facebook and twitter friends with him and wondering why he had not talked to me lately. I am greatly saddened by this, as he loved sports and we shared this love. He always took the MSU side and I the UM side. Sorry to hear this, and my heart goes out to Nancy and Mom and Dad. We had not seen each other since we were 14, but remembered."
"Happy Birthday Bill."
"Noram International and Riddell have been partners for over 10 years and Bill will be deeply missed be Riddell and myself. I enjoyed our time together over the years and always looked forward to my visits to Noram in Laguna Ca. seeing Bill, Gene and Gail. Bill was a special person and my deepest sympathies to his family and friends."
"Nancy please accept my deepest sympathy on behalf of my wife and the coaching staff at Nile C. Kinnick HS in Yokosuka Naval Base Japan. I couldn't believe it when Gail emailed me this morning. I am proud to have known Bill and to be able to call him friend. Bill will be dearly missed here."
"My deepest sympathies to the Marklevits family. I will miss Bill's updates on MSU Basketball/football. I remember Bill from high school - where his dad was our band director. You all are in my prayers.

"Too many special people have left us with just photographs and memories, all we ask; What Will Do? May it just be to remember them by carrying: the Torch!"
"I remember going to Kenyan one winter with my mother, June Winberg, Bill's Aunt. We wanted to meet Bill's new wife from Japan and take them a wedding gift. Yuriko was absolutely charming and beautiful. Bill was a friendly, big sports fan. We liked them instantly. We wished them much happiness and hoped to see them again one day. I wish the Marklevits family comfort and peace.God bless you."
"My thoughts and prayers go out to the Marklevits family. I was friends with Nancy in high school and always remember Bill's big smile and easy going attitude and wishing I had a big brother like him. His memory will always live on in your heart. My heartfelt sympathies to Mr. and Mrs. Marklevits, Nancy and Steve, and Bill's wife and daughters."
"My heart goes out to Bill's family. He was a wonderful class mate in high school and grew to be an even greater husband and father. May you cherish your memories of him as I will. Peace be with all who loved him."
"Deepest sympathy for your Son and Brother Bill. There are so many fond memories from Sault Area High School and your family. Gene, thank you for your inspiration to continue to play and perform, Gail, for your dedication to the SAHS bands, and Nancy, for your friendship. My deepest sympathy for your loss."
"Bill lived next door to us in Muskegon. He was Billy then, a great kid and playmate for years. He grew into a good man, spreading the same joy that he did as a child. The world is smaller without him. I wish Gene, Gail, Nancy, Steve, Yuriko, Janet, Jenny and his friends peace in memories, and a heightened sense of graitude for having William B. Marklevits grace their lives. jodi walukonis"
"To Nancy and Family,
With deepest sympathy - may God be with you all during this sad time in your lives and may you find peace and comfort with all the wonderful memories that Bill left behind. Please tell his daughters that their dad may be gone forever, but he will always be with them in spirit. My prayers are with you and may God bless you all!"
"My brother, Bill, passed away from a heart attack at his hotel in Indianapolis on March 10, 2012. He was in Indianapolis to photograph the Big Ten Basketball Tournament. Few people manage to pack all of their favorite things into one short lifetime as well as Bill. His friends around the world as well as his family will sorely miss him."
