Christmas Morning at the Yoe's
Sam's Corner---Garden City, S.C.
Home of Danny/Conni Yoe in Marietta,GA.
L-R. Bill, Phil, "My Sister Girl" Shirl and Danny.
This was taken while Gene and Shirl were down here from Quincy, IL. on vacation. They came to our home in Shelby and we drove down to GA. and spent a couple of days with Dan and Conni. G/S left from GA. to go back to IL. and Bill and I left a day earlier to come on back home.
Gene is now living in TX. where his daughter and her family live and my beloved sister is living in Heaven with God and the rest of our family and friends that are also living there. That would include my Bill, both my Mother/Daddy, baby brother Larry and both of Bill's parents. My dear Mother/Father-in-laws, Stella and Kenny Yoe.

Bill and Debbie standing in our lovely garden holding Debbie's pet Chickens, Dennis and Chipper. Both hens and laid the large brown eggs.
We always had such a great garden and back in those days I taught myself how to can and so, can I did. I was so proud of myself and would just stand back and look at all my filled jars and admire them. Now, Paul and his good friend, Larry, have a huge garden and hopefully I'll get back to doing a little canning once again. I'm even looking forward to doing it. Nothing like going out in your back yard and picking a fresh tomato, ummmmmmmmm, I can almost taste it now and can hardly wait.

Bill at Gene and Shirls' home in Quincy,IL.
This would have been taken out at Gene and Shirl's home. We had been at the Elks with a bunch of our friends while we were up there on vacation. When we finished at the Elks we went out to the Howell's and had a few drinks and heard a bunch of jokes. We always had such great times with all of these people. Now that home has been sold, Bill and Shirl have gone to a better place and Gene has moved to TX. to be close to his daughter, my niece, LeeAnn, her husband Tom and their daughter Anne. Molly (my little Shih Tzu and best friend) and I are in Shelby, N.C. where we live on the other side of youngest daughter Debbie and son-in-law Paul and about 7 miles from our oldest daughter Donna and son-in-law Charlie. Danny and Conni live in Marietta, GA. and Danny's boys Pat and Brian live in Athens,GA. and Debbie's son Tommy lives here in Shelby. Tommy is married to Melanie and they have a daughter Kenedi and a son Collin.

100 year old Grandma Bradford birthday
Bill's sister Doris Dieker and her husband Joe (now deceased) and Bill (also now deceased) and myself at their Grandma Bradford's 100th Birthday party. It was a pretty hectic day for Grandma Bradford with everyone there and we were making her nervous. She, in her cute little way told all of us, and I quote "if you all have homes, I wish you would go to them, you are making me nervous". She was quite the little gal that believed in speaking her mind. She was, at one time, a very interesting person to talk to and told me lots of stories that she could remember from when she was younger.

This picture, along with a lot of the local boys who were in the service from Quincy. All their pictures were hung around the walls of a local pool hall and when the hall was sold the pictures were given to their owners. I didn't know Bill when he was in the Navy but I met him when he was home and on his way to Chicago, IL. to be discharged. We started dating shortly after and that was in 1946. We were engaged in 47 and got married in 48.
