There’s so much to say, so many memories shared, and so many laughs, so many life moments that I cherish. I’m so proud of our kids and the life we made together. Till the very end we remained a United front. We will always hold space in our hearts for you and I’ll continue to see your spirit in our daughters. I want to thank Kaitlin for working hard to set up this website to honor her dad. Thank you for looking down on us from heaven. Until we meet again, B ❤️

It’s been hard to process my Grandfather’s passing, he was a wonderful man who never failed to make us laugh and smile. He was courteous and kind and lived life his way. I always respected and admired the way he could light up a room and cheer up all those around him. He was a great mentor in life and a loving grandfather. I’m glad we shared the moments we did and I will always look back and remember all the lessons you taught us and all the laughs we shared. Pass on easy, you had a life well lived. I love you Papa.

It is still so hard to believe that you are gone Uncle Bill

What a legacy of funny stories and memorable moments you gave us. It's those memories, those stories and the way you made us all laugh that will help to carry us through...

Sending my love and prayers to Aunt Joan, Billy, Shannon, Kelly, and Kaitlin for their tremendous loss, asking God to bring peace and comfort to you all.

I pray for my Mom, Uncle Mike and Uncle Matt too, as I can only imagine how painful a loss like this is for siblings...

He is missed but will never be forgotten ❤

Until we meet again Uncle Bill...

Whether is was 10 minutes or 10 years between the time we saw each other, it always seemed that it was just yesterday we talked. Your love, laughter and caring were the things I will remember most. Your passion for your family what I admired so. They were always first and everything to you and felt by all.

If memories bring us closer to the people we love who have already departed, you will never be far away from us. We each have so many memories that will last is a whole lifetime. You may be gone from this world, but you will never be gone in our hearts. Until we meet again...

I have never been the best with the written word, so I will do my best to convey how much my Uncle Bill meant to me and how very much I loved him. I can’t remember a time, that my Uncle Bill wasn’t a part of my life. Parties and dinners at grandma and grandpa’s, parties at grandpa’s office, July 4th and Thanksgiving at aunt Ruth and uncle Harry’s and family dinners and games at aunt Marie and Uncle Cleve’s. He was always the life of the party, as many have said. I also remember him making sure all the kids had fun. Buying semi-legal fireworks, comes to mind. When I had a child of my own and we visited Aunt Joan and Uncle Bill, in Long Island, they always rolled out the red carpet and made us feel loved and welcome. During one visit, when Mandy was little, she gave Uncle Bill and Aunt Joan the nicknames of Aunt Ducky and Uncle Ducky. She still refers to them that way, all these years later. I am blessed to have 3 wonderful and loving uncles and can’t imagine growing up without them. I love you always. Until we meet again Uncle Bill.

Uncle Bill you were larger than life. A true original. I’m positive I’ve never met anyone in this world quite like you. Always the coolest in the room. Growing up I always wanted to be funny like you, but as I got older it was seeing how great a father you were that really inspired me. You were always so proud of your family. You lived a life so full and rich that you will never be gone. We will be sharing your stories and memories for generations to come.
I love you Uncle Bill ❤️

The three words that immediately come to mind when I think of Uncle Bill are: family, laughter, and love. His devotion to his family, both immediate and extended was one of his hallmarks. He was always interested in all our lives and ready to beat up anyone giving us trouble;). Uncle Bill had such a natural and effortless sense of humor. He could very easily have a whole room of 30 or more people rolling in laughter. I believe that his gift for storytelling and joke telling was a way he expressed his love for all of us. A silly little memory keeps on coming to the front of my mind. When I was a little girl, Uncle Bill taught me and my sisters and cousins that we could make it look like we had lipstick on by licking a red M&M and rubbing it on our lips. I thought it was the coolest trick ever!
Thank you, Uncle Bill for all you did for us! I love you! Please know that you all are in our prayers

There’s not enough words to describe my Uncle Bill. This is the type I thing I never thought I’d write. But this man deserves any and every tribute made in his name: The funniest person I’ve ever met. Not only that, but his humor was effortless. Uncle Bill (along with my parents, grandmother, and other uncles and aunts) taught me the importance of family. Some of my fondest memories as a kid were going to visit him, Aunt Joan, Kelly, and Kaitlin down in Long Island. From going to the beach, from my father squirting him in the eye with washer fluid. That’s the first time I heard the f word. I will be forever be grateful for that. Uncle Bill’s passion for life, sports, and fun is something I admire and aspire for. And he taught me how important love, compassion, and family are. And for that, a “thank you “isn’t an adequate response. Rest In Peace to one of my heroes. I also want to send all my love to my Aunt Joan, my cousins Billy , Shannon, Kelly, and Kaitlin. All my love to all of you always.

I'm so thankful I got to see him over the weekend for my birthday. I knew he wasn't doing well... and now have a feeling he held out to see me for my birthday before he made the transition. Till the end, always putting his girls first.

He was known as the life of the party, best storyteller, rebel, and seriously the funniest person.

He had special bonds with everyone, for him and I, we always talked about business. Whenever he'd say 'that's a damn good idea', I'd run with it. I remember him calling me and sending me news paper articles about Downtown Las Vegas while I was living in New York and him telling me I had to move to Vegas and be a part of what was starting to happen. I remember rolling my eyes and like 'ok, dad!' But he was right. Making the choice to move to Downtown Las Vegas changed my life, career, and I'll be forever grateful.

When I was younger and couldn't get into any college to save my life and literally my guidance councilor was telling me college wasn't for me, he believed in me. He was an entrepreneur too and whoever didn't believe in me, he'd say 'tell them to fuck off and keep chasing your dreams'. And I did, a few times lol ; )

Promise to make you proud daddy and keep an eye on mommy and Kate for you. love you, Kelly Jean

From the time I was a little girl I always got such a kick out of getting to say that Uncle Bill was my Godfather. I always admired the way he never visited Grandma without bringing her some sort of sweet treat (even if it was against doctor's orders!). I loved growing up believing that boxed wine was 'fancy' because I never witnessed a party that Uncle Bill didn't bring that with him. My respect, admiration and love grew tenfold with the love, compassion and strength he showed for my father as we experienced tragedy and loss. As I write all this out, and as I reflect on an absolutely incredible life I realize that that little girl is still very much me...very much in awe and immense gratitude for getting to say, that's my Godfather! May your love and laughter shine down on us always Uncle Bill.

His Life

The Man, The Myth, The Legend

March 31, 2021
On November 14th, 1944, the world welcomed William "Bill" Bennett in Brooklyn, NY. From that day on until March 22th, 2021, a life was surely well lived.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan, and children William Jr, Shannon, Kelly, & Kaitlin. He also leaves behind his younger brothers Matthew Jr. and Michael as well as eldest sister Patricia. Bill was a devoted grandfather to his four grandchildren, and recently welcomed his first great grandchild. He was a loving uncle, cousin, brother in law, colleague, neighbor and friend.

Bill was always fearless wide eyed wonderer, adventurer, and lover of the unknown. He lived a thousand lifetimes in one. He was a deeply intelligent businessman, entrepreneur, poet, music lover, and life of the party. His place in our hearts will never be replaced.

The amount of love that our family has received has been overwhelming in the best sense. It is a true testament to the incredible legacy that Bill left behind.

One of the last things Bill said to his brother in law was "Promise me, you'll take care of my girls." He was always putting his family first and lived for the memories made with the people he loved the most.  With, that said, we kindly invite everyone to use this space to share memories, photos, and videos of our beloved Bill.
