Mr. Billy R. Buckner was born in Alexander City, Alabama on November 17,1940 to the late Lawston Buckner and Mary Moon.

Mr. Billy R. Buckner was a member of Greater Temple Church of Alexander City, Alabama.

He enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved to make people laugh. Always wore a smile.

He departed this life January 22,2013 at Adams Nursing Home.

Mr. Buckner was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Julia A. Buckner and one brother, James Charles Buckner.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving sister, Majorie R. Moon of Alexander City, Alabama; one nephew, Martinez Moon of Alexander City, Alabama; two nieces, Pamela Buckner and Gweneolyn (Kervin) Hatcher of Romulus, Michigan; a special friend, Benjamin Flowers and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
