Mr. Billy “Red” Shepard Davidson, Sr. was born May 2, 1946 in West Point, GA to the late Hugh Dorsey Davidson, Sr. and Mildred Beach Davidson. He departed this life on Friday, November 11, 2011 at his residence.

Billy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, West Point, GA, under the leadership of the late Rev. B.C. Carter.

Red was a product of the West Point City Schools and was a graduate of Harrison High School.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorsey Davidson, Jr., Earl Kelly Davidson and a granddaughter, Contessa Davidson.

He leaves to cherish his memories nine daughters, a very loyal and devoted daughter, Julia (Rev. M.L. Sr.)Slaughter, Angela Murphy, Amanda(Tommie)Cooks, Yolanda Stafford, April Houston, West Point, GA; Monica Pattillo, Newnan, GA; Kimberly Davidson, Ft. Walton, FL; Kizzie Magby, Valley, AL; Jakovia ( Vincent) Williams, Lanett, AL; one son, Billy (Denise) Davidson, Jr., Lanett, AL; five brothers, John Davidson, Lawrence Davidson, Monroe Davidson, West Point, GA; Warren Davidson, Ralph Davidson, Cleveland, OH; four sisters, Rosa Pettigrew, Cleveland, OH; Virginia (Lon)Pettigrew, Chicago, IL, Kathy Bland, Columbus, GA, Lula (Thomas) Sands, Chattanooga, TN; 30 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, an array of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
