Today our family learned of the death of our cousin Billy in Alabama. Billy grew up in the same house with my mom and their grandmother as brother and sister. Every time he came to Detroit, my mother would send me to the grocery store to get his favorites - hot dogs and bologna, both he ate straight from the package. When he arrived, it was my cousin's Stephanie Cain and my job to chauffer him wherever he wanted to go. Each trip would include a shopping trip to The Men's Warehouse to purchase sweaters that they didn't sell in Alexander City, AL. The day would end with everyone back at momma's house playing music, laughing, eating and telling stories. Family, hold on to all of our wonderful memories, they'll get us through these next painful days. This is a picture of my momma, Billy and my grandmother.
