Mr. Carroll was born Monday, January 12, 1942, in West Point, Georgia, the son of the late Elma and Carl Carroll. He graduated from Troup high School in 1960 and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Carroll retired from Uniroyal Tire Company with 29 years of service. After his retirement he worked for Troup County Corrections and Troup County Transportation Department. He loved Alabama football, fishing and hunting. He was of the Nazarene faith.

Survivors include his wife Donna Jones Carroll; his daughters, Jaye Carroll (Joel) Weldon and Melissa Carroll (Chuck) Herren; his son Todd Carroll; granddaughters, Sunny Herrren, Madison Moore, Mallorie Moore and Ashley Carroll; and great grandchild, Journey Herren. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Carroll.
