Billy Thompson Turner Sr., 79, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late William Alman Turner Jr. and M. Dovie Hunt. He was a tobacco farmer for many years and retired from Murdoch Center as a healthcare supervisor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Genavus John Rigsbee. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Sue Bullock Turner of the home, two sons, Billy Turner Jr. of Rougemont, Mike Turner of Creedmoor, a sister, Alice T. Scurlock ,brother, Jack Turner, both of Creedmoor, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters,Katherine Ross and Mae Young, a son, Teddy Turner, step son, Bobby Bullock, step-daughter, Peggy Wells, granddaughter, Holly Turner and great granddaughter, Kayleigh Bowen Turner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, March 8th 2014 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
