Happy Heavenly Birthday Bishop Frank Summerfield.
You were a true Man of God, walking and talking Bible. Your teaching has carried me throughout the years from the day I entered your ministry. You and First Lady Pastor JoeNell Summerfield was prime example of what God stood for. You two showed us how to carry ourselves as a single person and as a married couple. You and Pastor JoeNell will never be forgotten. May you both continue to rest in the loving arms of God. Sleep In Peace

Even though I was under your ministry for a few years before you left us, my life was touched and I still remember your teachings. I have the CDs that I purchased and I can still listen to some of my favorites. You and Pastor Jonelle were true followers of God and taught us the Word. I am forever grateful for being able to be under your ministry.

Bishop Summerfield,
How powerful was the delivery of God's Word. I will never forget how the Word was preached with such accuracy, and authority. It was like a marksman
aiming with skill at a target. The weapon was the Word, and the target was our hearts. You were and still are a blessing, because our God is a God of the living.

Many years ago I began listening to Pastor Frank Summerfield on television and purchased many tapes. What impressed me most is that he was a native of Newark! He enabled me to understand that God can do what seems impossible and change our lives and financial status.
God is willing, I still believe this! So sorry for his loss for his family, congregation, community and the world. Thankful that he shared his life's testimony constantly never forgetting where he came from while not limited by this either. Blessings to those left here to continue the legacy of his and his beautiful wife and partner in life and in death, Pastor JoeNell Summerfield.

I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to Pastor JoeNell and family and the WOG family. When I moved to NC in 2000 I began to prayerfully search for a church home and finally found it 15 months later in Word of God Fellowship Church. I learned so much from Bishop Summerfield's teachings and even as I endured life's storms continued to press on and attend church because of his teachings on faithfulness to the house of God and not giving up but pushing forward in the Lord. He had a prophetic anointing that really ministered to me and I am forever grateful to have been a part of this amazing church family.

Bishop Summerfield was an awesome man of God. A caring man, an outstanding Preacher; a man that changed many lives. My life was changed in 1999 when I was invited to hear this great man of God teach, and on that same day I was saved and joined WOGF. Fully amazed how God used Bishop Summerfield to teach and deliver His Word. Bishop was known to many as The Walking Bible.

I thank you Bishop Frank Summerfield for my growth in faith as a Christian.  You will be truly missed but never forgotten.

There’s so much I could mention. The big things like trusting me to work on a few really important projects because it was a boost in confidence for me. Being there for the start of my marriage performing my wedding ceremony, seeing us through the ups and downs with prayer and teaching. Being there at the end, performing my husband’s eulogy despite the pain he himself dealt with and all of the direct and indirect encouragement along the journey I have been on since then. Founder of the place that was the foundation of my children’s development from the time they were born. Praying over each of them as I gave them to God.

But he was just as much into the small stuff. I remember him standing patiently and smiling while he listened to my daughter Ariana talk about her Little Mermaid backpack when we ran into him on her first day of Kindergarten. He had a certain way of walking when he was on his way to something important, which was a great majority of the time; but he stopped in his tracks for this tiny 5 year-old who at that time could say a whole lot about just about anything. I will cherish it all. We love you and will miss you Bishop.

Whenever I have had opportunity to hear Bishop Summerfield preach, it was always a true blessing. The last time I saw Dr. Summerfield and his wife was a couple years ago. My husband and I were together one afternoon, and decided to dine at a particular local restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised when walking in and also seeing Bishop and First Lady Summerfield. I had the pleasure to converse with First Lady JoeNell. Although they did not know us personally, they both were very kind. We laughed and talked, and they looked absolutely beautiful together. That was a special day, as my husband and I were honored to have been in their presence, in such a public setting.

Bishop Summerfield was a great man of God on several different levels and scales. Dr. Summerfield will be tremendously missed. Heaven's gain and our loss.

We are praying for the family.

It is with great honor I write this tribute to such an awesome gift to the Body of Christ. Bishop Frank Summerfield, you were a force to be reckoned with. You possessed the ability to marry both spiritual literacy and academics on a whole new level. The Greater Oasis Temple will never forget how you entered our lives. Evangelist Vera Gear saw you on television and called to ask if you would come share the word with our small congregation of people at that time. You consented to come. We were being taught the word of faith but the manifestation of prosperity was not visible yet, but we used what we had and were not ashamed of the process.

When you opened your mouth to preach, we were standing witnessing to every word that came out of your mouth. You stopped and said: "The word of faith is being taught here!" You began to understand your assignment to encourage us on our journey of faith and to hold on until the manifestation of what we were believing God for came to fruition.

Many years passed. Our paths crossed again when you called my pastor, Chief Apostle S. E. McKinney. You emphatically told him that the Lord spoke to you and told you that he was the set man in the city in which we live. Afterward, we had one of the greatest revivals and fellowships with you and your wife that will always be memorable to our church and family.

Never thought you would be leaving us so soon. You will be tremendously missed but we will always hold dear the memories of the great ministry friend you were to our pastor. You fought a good fight and you finished your course. Thank God for the legacy you left behind. You may be gone from the earth realm but Sir, you will never be forgotten!

In honor of a great Man of Faith;

Evangelist La'Shea McKinney

Impressed by his wisdom, and at aaaah'd how he delivered the Word of God in Real World scenarios. The meat of his sermons I remember most....like no other church I would ever experience thereafter. He delivered a family environment, a church community that we all looked forward to coming back like a reunion every Wed, Sunday... the family he knitted is devoted, and will sacrifice their invidual worldly lives to ensure the family of WOG came first. He taught marriage, finances, how to endure arguements, how to give, how to break yourself to a point of real truth and understanding. He uplifted his wife which all singles admired and longed for. He not only was a devoted husband but a watchful father that devoted his life to ensure his children's future was secure. He planned and secured their path before he left, as a father, as I can imagine, you cant feel any prouder than to leave " accomplished " legacies. I was so proud Valisha married for I felt his contentment for her. It felt personal...as every daughter saw the weight lift off his shoulder... another milestone complete. He wanted all his family to be covered and to be okay. I am a prodigy of THIS messenger and I turned out to be overly abundantly okay. I still see you. I still hear you, I am out in the fields making an impact. Thank you, I love you and I appreciate you, Bishop Frank Summerfield. Legend..... "you forgot something" your Words "His Word" stays WITH US ----> https://www.youtube.com/user/WOGFchurch

Bishop Summerfield has inspired my life on so many levels. Under Bishop and Pastor JoNell ministry I have learned how to keep hope alive..there were times when I was going thru so many struggles and just by going to church to hear the word of God, I left feeling renewed with a stronger faith and hope. My life has gotten better and I learned to be a better Christian ...I have been so Blessed mentally, spiritually, and financially . We have suffered a great loss, but we know he is in Heaven smiling down on us. Don't be sad , but be happy that he has made it to Heaven. God has called one of his solders home to receive his crown. I will be praying for the Summerfield family and our church family. We will truly miss our Bishop!!!

Bishop Summerfield thank you isn't enough. You have saved and changed many lives in my family. I am who I am because of the teaching received with you and Pastor JoeNell the past nineteen years. I can hear in my right ear because of your prayer. Purchased my house , purchased my Durango, started my business, survived loss of brother, mother, and dad because of your continual hope , prayers and teaching.

You gave my child a scholarship which led to a free college career and a position on an overseas team. Permitted her to be a legend in her sports career. You sir, helped my husband and I through critical times and counseled us. You encouraged me to be myself and soar with all my endeavors and to let go of past disappointments, failures, mistakes, etc.. Your words are forever embedded in my spirit and will propel me to the next level!! I will cherish my books and play the cds and read to refresh my Mekong regularly and be a good steward.

You was there at the most important time during my dad's funeral to speak and encourage our family. You trusted my family to do many things for your personal family and the ministry and I thank you. I will carry on with my head high and the work will continue. Our last conversation you told me to keep doing a great work in the community spreading hope . I was so happy you taught "Keep Hope Alive" because that was a confirmation that I was truly walking in my calling. Yet, again you gave me the answer. Rest now you have earned your crown.

I will bless the Lord at all times while spreading hope. I will be that Little God you told us we are Bishop. I will be steadfast and unloveable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord.. His praises will continually be in my mouth. Thank you sir. I loved and respected you so much. I will trust in the Lord and lean not to my understanding on this transition of yours sir. Well done. Michael and Vivian Osinowo, express to Mama JoeNell, Frank Jnr, Mitch, Valesha and Josh, our hearfelt love, we remember you in our prayers daily, and thank you for sharing him with us. We will surely miss this "Man of God. We will miss his humor, his dedication, his light, and his love. Your encounter with him would ensure you know the WORD, he was a walking bible and a motivator. He has left us a wonderful example to follow, for that we are consoled. He was mighty man of valor who brought giants in the likes of Bishop TD Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Rod Parsley, Dr. Freeman etc to the city of Raleigh, yet his humility is unrivaled. I remember he would walk up to my husband and I asking about our wellbeing and also tickle our baby in the stroller. The church is super mega but he would immediately pick us from the crowd even when he comes across my hubby in the store. When he met my parents for the first time, he was so warm and unassuming, they immediately locked eyes with him, and he spoke highly of them to the welcome team, like they have known each other for years. We will never forget how much that meant to us, he was just so loving, kind and out of genuine concern asked if all was well each time. He sure left deep imprints in our lives, and I know there are many that feel that way. Bishop was a man unique like no other--he was so Godly, sweet, loving, kind, compassionate as well as one of the smartest and wisest men I have ever known, you will be greatly missed but we rejoice that you are in the presence of the Lord receiving your rewards you so justly deserve for your dedication and hard work. The unadulterated word you bring forth, propelled us to enroll our daughter at the church daycare, and now she is in the church academy. My family and I will personally represent your legacy, and it will not go to waste in Jesus Name.
Stay Strong Mama JoeNell we are praying for you and your family ceaselessly!
2 Timothy 7-8
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." Bishop Frank Summerfield was a father to us. His kindness, warm hugs, the twinkle in his eyes and his quick whit will be greatly missed. His memories will surely live in our hearts forever. Until we see him again….

Awesome, powerful, outstanding and dedicated man of God. That's who Bishop Summerfield was. I learned and grow so much spiritually as member of WOFG and as a student under the teachings of Dr. Summerfield. Prior to becoming a member in 2003 I'd never heard the word taught with such conviction, passion, accuracy, precision and vigor. Bishop was extremely passionate about the Word of God, marriage, family and educating children. It was a blessing to be in the presence of that type of anointing 2 and 3 times a week. It allowed me elevate my level of thinking and I became transformed by it.
I will truly miss Bishop Summerfiled. He is gone but will never be forgotten.
To the Summerfield family, you all are in my thoughts and prayers now and in days to come. Be strong and courageous. Remember, that tough times don't last always, tough people do.

Bishop Summerfield and I spoke the same night that I joined WOGF in 1999. We spoke about being from Newark, NJ, he live on the south side and I lived on the north side of Newark, I am one year older than him, but we never knew each other. He was an inspiration to me because it was WOGF that I learned why I should tithe, how to manage my money. He influenced and inspired my interest in digging deep into the Word and applying it my life. He gave me the courage to buy my first home instead of waiting for a husband to buy it. He told the single women, be good to yourself first so that the man God sends will know the standards that he has to match and exceed. I still have his autographed copy of All You Need is A Good Brain Washing. He will be missed. Pastor Jonelle, family and the congregation of WOGF you have my deepest sympathies and I will keep you in my prayers. May God bless and keep you all.

To the gift that God gave us, the example of love and kindness, his awesome smile would show you the love of God's spirit and his example as a leader, father, husband, pastor is unmatched. Telling us who we were in God eyes , becoming the example of faith to stretch ourselves to show the world who we serve. My heart is so sad that God call you home to soon he must have needed you. Thank you for being an example for your spiritual son, my bishop the way he talks about you and the example you set for us to strive for was how a son wants to make his father proud. Agape international ministries will forever be greatful. To Summerfield ministries and bishop. We love you and can never be forgotten. Until we meet again in heavens most high.

To know Bishop Summerfield was to know the WORD. He was indeed a walking Bible. I will never forget the love he and Pastor JoeNell and dear Valisha showed to me and my daughter during the passing of my husband while under his shephering. I'm reminded during one Sunday Service he called me out during his message to let me know he needed to see me after service. The meeting after service changed my life forever, he not only told me, not asked me...but told me that I would now be apart of the Levites-(Praise & Worship Team). Bishop let me know there was to much Word and gifting in me to not rise up and be an asset to the kingdom. He will always be dear to my heart. To Pastor JoeNell, Frank Jr. Mitch, Valisha, Joshua and WOG Family my daughter & I love you and continue to keep you in our prayers and will continue to proclaim something Bishop lived & manifested. Which is, "the Word works, when we work the Word".

Bishop Summerfield thank you for giving me the opportunity to work at Word of God Christian Academy for over 20 years. I never forget all the teachings that you taught me. You and Pastor JoeNell was there for me when my mother died in 1996. You both came to my house and showed the Godly love that you always shown. I am who I am because of all your teaching and word of wisdom.

I want to thank you for all the prayers and words that you ministered in my life. I never forget all the prayer session you had in 2012 on Tuesdays night. When the man of God tells you to move over

July 4, 2017

We all know Bishop was seriously faithful to God work, however the man of God has a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh. So it's early 2000's and some of the leaders flew to Houston, Texas to attend pastor I.V. Hillard church leadership conference. I had the awesome assignment of chauffeuring the man and woman of God, however I was a bit to cautious with driving, and I believe l hit a bump or two, so Bishop gives me this serious look with love, it's like he was saying really Brother I'm running late and you hit a bump and cause the first lady some concern, just Move over and let me drive. l am certain Bishop and pastor Joe had a good laugh at the new recruit. He allowed me to drive later.

My Bishop changed my life

This tribute was added by Crystal Smith on 3rd July 2017

After attending church at Word of God Fellowship, I took my walk seriously. I was accountable to the Word of God and God. Before getting this teaching from Bishop Summerfield it was like a formality to go to church Sunday after leaving the club the night before too. I became a changed woman and for this I am forever grateful to Bishop Frank and Pastor JoeNell Summerfield.
