Bishop Dr. Marva L. transitioned home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 8, 2022. Bishop Mitchell founded Revival Center Ministries International, and Project-Impact Dayton with her late husband Bishop Dr. Willie E. Mitchell, Sr. 

Bishop Mitchell not only  impacted her community, she was also respected throughout the world for her determination, love, and passion for ministry. She has received numerous awards including: Top 10 women in Dayton, NCCJ Humanitarian award, and Mother of the year which she cherished the most. Her work on earth will be felt for generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Bishop Dr. Willie E. Mitchell, Sr., and son Willie E. Mitchell, Jr.

She leaves to carry her legacy, children Marvin (Mylinda) Mitchell, Sharon (Cary) Conyers, Paul (Shannon) Mitchell, Monica Jones, Joseph (Alisha) Mitchell, and Miracle (Dominic) Oladele; 27 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, and adopted daughter Samantha (Missy) Banks.

Celebration of life will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Road, Dayton, Oh 45414. Visitation from 9:00am-11:00am and service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be private, and condolences can be sent to Lusainfh@gmail.com

I am beyond thankful for knowing Bishop Marva her imparting in my life and in the life of the McCoys words cannot comprehend or tell the story how she help imputed Godly wisdom in my life, I am without words but forever grateful and blessed having had such a honor to have known and was taught under her teaching Thank you Lord for such a General in your Army.

With her late husband, Bishop Dr. Willie E. Mitchell, Sr.,Dr.Mitchell co-founded Revival Center Ministries, Internationaland Project-Impact Dayton.Dedicated to equipping children and families for success, Project-Impact was known for its out-of-school suspension program and students taking a new direction (STAND) to redirect student behavior.The organization won a national award for its truancy prevention program. For twenty years, Project-Impact Dayton served about six hundred peopleannuallycreating life-changing results.

Dr. Mitchell, the mother of seven, grandmother of twenty-seven,and great grandmother of eight, was passionate about children. She launched Love Schoolin 1990. Three Saturdays a month, neighborhood youths receive meals, life-skills training, and an abundance of love. Other community endeavors include book bag giveaways, clothing giveaways, and after-school tutoring at Westwood Elementary. She received numerous awards includingTop 10 Women in Dayton, NCCJ Humanitarian Award, and her most-cherished award, Mother of the Year.

She served as vice president for the International Women’s Ministerial Alliance (IWMA) created to prepare women to walk in purpose. As the overseer of twenty-four ministries, Dr. Mitchell was the presiding bishop of God’s Workers in Local Leadership (W.I.L.L.) Fellowship of Churches.She conducted seminars on church agency development to launchnonprofit organizations across the United States.

Fashionable, funny, faithful, and fervent, she inspired politicians, celebrities, and everyday citizens. On numerous occasions, she attended the White House’s National Prayer Service and had a front-row seat at the inauguration of former President Barak Obama. Dr. Mitchell was often invited for exclusivedining with senators and congressmen. The Governor of Ohio selected her to serve on the board for Faith-Based Initiatives of Ohio. She provided feedback to Mel Gibson at the screening of The Passion of the Christ and prophesied to MC Hammer. She ministered alongside gospel elites including Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Bishop J. Delano Ellis II, and Dr. Myles Munroe.

Ohio Congressman Mike Turner said, “Bishop Mitchell dedicated her life to God and the love of Jesus Christ. Her legacy will remain strong through her ministries nationwide and she has certainly been a blessing to our community. My thoughts are with the Mitchell family as they grieve the passing of this amazing woman.” Congressman Turner will be speaking at her celebration of life service.

Robert Woodson, civil rights activist and founder of The Woodson Center, said, “We have known Dr. Mitchell as a wonderful leader for more than three decades. Having inspired people all over the world, she remained a humble spirit.” Woodsonselected Dr. Mitchell to speak at a congressional hearing about the importance of funding faith-based organizations.

Former Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, was a strong proponent of her third book,It Takes a Church to Raise a Village. This bestselling book is available on Amazon.

Dr. Mitchell was known on six continents for her determination, love, and passion for ministry. This breast cancer survivor with limited mobility due to a stroke, traversed deserts and dumps to spread the gospel. Dr. Mitchell spoke at churches in Kenya, Egypt; Mexico, and India, and conducted conferences for pastors and ministry leaders, which was unprecedented for a woman to command such a role. She supported international ministries with missions and donations forchurch startups, schools, and orphanages. Her mantra: “Pain is inevitable. Misery is optional.”

Dr. Mitchell obtained a doctorate in theology from Family Bible College.
