(To Our Loving Mother)

 

 Two of us were born of another,

But God had called her home.

So the Lord sent you to be our mother,

And you made us your own.

  For blood and bone God does not see,

Just love for each other eternally.

And God seeing your undying love,

Sent you two more little ones from above.

 So you took us to church, to learn Gods love,

And you taught us to pray, to the Lord up above.

 You sang in the choir, with such a beautiful voice,

That you made the Angels in Heaven rejoice.

But as with all families on this earthly plain,

There’s laughter, and sadness, confusion, and pain.

 And as much as you tried with all of your might,

Some things you found you just couldn’t fight.

 For you see the hardest thing in life it’s true,

Is when a child leaves ahead of you.

   And when there’s been such sorrow to bare,

Life can seem just so very unfair.

But you have three daughters, who care for you,

Who will continue with their love so true.

   A bond was created with us you see,

That will last throughout eternity.

So though we no longer have you physically here,

To talk to, laugh with, and shed a tear.

 We’ll hold your memory deep in our hearts,

Till at last we are no longer apart.

 So rest Dear Mother in a peaceful sleep,

Knowing in our hearts your love we’ll always keep,
