Mr. Harris was born in Clyattville, Georgia on November 19, 1934, the son of the late Annie Stringer Harris and William Andy Harris. After graduating from high school he served honorably in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life and remained loyal to her for over sixty years until they crossed over Jordan together. He was gifted in any form of construction and worked in that field for many years. Before his retirement he was employed by the Heard County Department of Transportation where he was a machine operator. He loved creating beautiful items in his wood working shop, and making the earth come alive with wonderful vegetables and fruits. After his wife’s health failed he became both her caregiver and homemaker. He was well known for his Cat Head Biscuits. When his neighbors’ well would go dry they sent for Mr. Bobby and his devining rod to find a new source of water. He was a humble man who felt that no job was to menial for him if he could help his family or friends. He was a faithful member of the Centralhatchee First Baptist Church and even when it was hard for him to walk he made every effort to attend and worship the Lord he loved. His wonderful spirit will long be remembered.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Harris Shelnutt of Carrollton, GA.; son Michael and Toni Harris of Knoxville, TN.; two sisters, Robbie Sapp of Dublin, GA., and Betty Sue Wagner of Valdosta, GA.; grandchildren, Kerri and Jarrod Whitman of Bowdon, GA., Rebecca Shelnutt and Chip Stephens of Ephesus, GA., and Michel Harris of Knoxville, TN.; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Payton, Emma, Anna, and Kylie Whitman all of Bowdon, GA.
