This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Bob Girardini 86 years old , born on February 16, 1932 and passed away on November 5, 2018. Bob grew up in Mount Carmel,PA and served in the US military in the Korean war. He married Helen Zushin in 1956 and the couple moved to Harrisburg, PA.  He worked his entire career for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and Conrail and was admired among his peers as a skilled and knowledgeable leader, and counted many of his coworkers as lifelong friends. In addition, he had his own electrical business.  Bob retired at 62 and enjoyed traveling with his wife Helen and son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Julie Girardini, to Italy, Spain and Germany.

We remember him fondly and think of him often.

A celebration-of-life "cookout" will be held at the home of Ken and Julie Girardini near Sykesville, MD on June 2, 2019.  We welcome you to join us.  Please email me for information at keng@girardinidesign.com or call 410-549-3499

His Life

THE LIFE OF ROBERT "BOB" GIRARDINI

April 4, 2019

Bob Girardini was from Mount Carmel in the Coal Region of Pennsylvania. His family had a coal and ice business as well as a bakery in Mount Carmel. Bob left to join the military during the Korean Conflict, after which he returned home and married Helen Zushin. He took a job as a communications maintainer for the Pennsylvania Railroad, moving to Harrisburg. The railroad was a great community for him and he counted many lifelong friends there. His son Ken was born in 1958 and the family moved to Camp Hill, PA. Bob enjoyed travel but not necessarily the flying to get there. Their trips included Spain, North Africa, and Puerto Rico with dear friends and with their son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Julie Girardini they went to Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. He had a nice long retirement and at 86 years old passed away after complications from a stroke.
