I will be forever grateful to Bob for giving the world my best friend Karen who shares her Dad's sense of adventure and joy for life that he lived every day. His love for his 3 "girls" was evident in his every look. I loved his smile, his passion, his kindness and all of that lives on in each one of us who were lucky enough to have known this wonderful man.
We are surrounding you with loving light

Bob was one of those people who inspired us to live with more energy, vitality, and happiness. He seemed always able to look at the positive side of things. He was truly a man of action.
Bob would say "glad to know you" rather than "glad to meet you" giving you more a feeling of bonding that just a passive greeting. He was a true Viking; he never seemed tired of exploring.

I remember spending Sunday afternoons swimming and skiing at the Jensen's house on East River. Bob was such a warm and caring man, husband and father. I hadn't seen him in years, but the pictures show he truly enjoyed his life and girls!! I am so sorry for your loss.

Fran,Karen,& Cindy:
I was so sad when I read about Bob. I haven't seen you in many years, but think of you often when I drive by your old house on East River Rd. I will never forget Bob, how he used to call me his "girlfriend" when I was little, and I would run away giggling all the time. This website is awesome...it is a trip down memory lane.RIP Bob...We all love you! Dory Smith Matwijkow

I am so sorry to hear of Bobs passing. He and his wife Fran always welcomed my mom into their hearts and home. She worked for you at Viking on GI for many years. Her name was Anne and she passed 13 years ago of cancer.I was always grateful for what a wonderful person Bob was...he will be missed by many. God bless you all !

If yellow roses grow in heaven, pick a bunch for me. Place them in my dad's arms & tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love & miss him, & when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon his cheek & hold him for a while. Because remembering him is easy. I do it everyday. There's an ache within my heart.. that will never go away.. I LOVE YOU DAD.

We're keeping you in our prayers.

Ever since Dushane St in Kenmore, 1960, Bob has been a hero for me. Even these past few years with him in CA I have at least known he was there if he was needed. Love you Fran, Cindy and Karen. Bob is helping the angels now.

Bob was truly a special person. His love of life and family was such a joy to be part of. I know of no one who lived life to the fullest more than Bob. Bob was living the life that most people half his age dream about doing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Godspeed.

Now it is a year since our beloved sister MaryJane has joined you and Peggy last January. It is also the same month that we lost you dear brother. Now my 3 siblings are having a grand time together but it leaves me feeling very lonely. I have so many marvelous memories of the lives we shared and I must be content going through hundreds of photos!! Hugs, prayers and love, Dotty, ("Dottylou and Dusty.")

Bob it’s time for a Bus. The side car is too small for the family that has now joined you. Put a piano on board for MJ has joined your Bus Band. Heaven must be wonderful and we will all be together again. Thank God for the gift of Christ and the hope and faith in our reunion. Ride high VIKING !

Bob..a class act

January 15, 2013

It is hard to believe that Bob's passing was two years ago today!  His presence still lives on.  He was a wonderful man and a friend to all of us!  As friends of Cindy, we were family!  He was the resident parental figure.  When he and Fran attended Jazz Fest and met my parents, he and my dad were like two peas in a pod!  So many memories of Bob...he and Fran always getting to the Del Mar concerts early and setting up a wonderful spot for us...always being his smiling presence at all events.  One of my favorites is Jazz Fest in New Orleans after Katrina...we had a wonderful time!  He is missed and yet still present in spirit,,,,definitely a class act and glad and proud to have known him and called him a friend!

Happy Anniversary!

June 8, 2011

Today (June 7th) would have been my parents’ 53rd wedding anniversary.  Their true love and commitment to each other in good times and bad is how I continue to envision all great marriages.  My hope is that all your relationships include love, faith, joy, kindness, trust, respect, laughter, support, patience, sharing, an appreciation of family and of each other’s unique gifts and abilities.  Thank you to everyone who contributes to this website with their memories and stories.   It means so much to us and we are grateful for so many wonderful friends and family!

Mom and Dad,

Thank you for being such incredible role models.  Happy Anniversary!!

Always and Forever,

Love, Cindy

Growing Up with Bob Jensen, my brother

February 28, 2011

Dear Friends,  I feel privileged to have had a brother who was fun, inspirational and caring.  As a teenager, it seemed special to know that there was someone older I could turn to if needed.  Not only did I love meeting all his teenage buddies, but he was there to teach me to drive a car when turning 18.  What a treat to tool around his bulbous big black Buick convertible.  Our family was always entertained with Bob's sense of humor as our sister Peggy was the perfect foil for his wisecracks and they could go on forever, unlike sisters Dotty and MJ who just enjoyed the entertainment.  We all enjoyed many family reunions at Fran and Bob's marvelous river property in Grand Island, NY.  I will never forget when he pulled my 12 year old son Karl all way round the island on water skiis!  He enjoyed my 3 sons while I loved his gorgeous daughters whom I appreciate more than ever!  I look forward to our heavenly reunion one day.  His nephews carry on the family tradition of loving motorcycles and I have to admit we have photos of my Dad as young man riding a cycle on Staten Island, NY.    Vaya con Dios Bob!  All my love, Dotty
