My inestimable friend and beloved brother, Bolaji Jimoh Salami; it's now a year since you left us. Your passing this time last year was a death too many to bear.
For the 33 years that I have been opportuned to know you (our first meeting being at my wedding reception) as a genuine friend and brother, you were so so full of life and never caught worrying about tomorrow; even when in the midst of unwarranted challenges.
Bolaji, you 'never walked alone'; the characteristic of a true Liverpool FC Supporter. You were always there to carry people along in whatever circumstances you are found.
If anyone describes Bolaji Jimoh Salami as effervescent and ebullient, I can't agree less.
It takes greatness to lift someone else. Great people lift someone else, they recognise, they rise higher by lifting others. This philosophy definitely made Bolaji see giving as a privilege.
Good friends are like stars….You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there. You demonstrated and made us aware that doing good to all people, don't lose your good attitude, it pays heavily; 'it's between you and God'....
Your 'Kindness' might have been treated as your weakness, but you still remained kind.
Your 'Help' to others could have gone unnoticed, still you were helpful.
People cheated you while you were being 'Honest', still you maintained your honesty.
People may often forget your 'Good deeds', but you maintained your goodness to them.
Bolaji you were known for your kind and lovely display to all kinds irrespective of whom they are. I believe you were in this world for a journey of purpose and passion.
It's never an exaggeration if I just say that you were special to me and you did make a difference in my life; we respected each other and I cherished your true friendship and brotherhood.
A great family man you were, friendly and bubbly individual. Always bringing a ray of light to any gathering; you were full of life, vigour, poise, ideas, warmth, grace, drive and so many other admirable values we can list.
We are definitely missing your vast friendliness and Steadfast Caring attitude to all. Death has picked the wrong man this time around. Salami family has lost an icon that can never be replaced.
You are continuously in my thoughts, and I will always continue to remember the family (yours) you left behind in my prayers.
Finally, as The Lord God Almighty my Creator permits me; I can confidently testify that at a time, you (Bolaji Salami) even in death saved my life (in a special way) as God granted.
We are enriched by the memories you left; continue to take your place among the stars and shine on for all times.
