Beloved daughter, mother and grandmother, Brenda Alice McCloskey, passed away on Monday, July 31. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Evans; sister Darlene George; two daughters Kristina and Lori; niece Rebecca; and four grandchildren with another on the way.  Brenda also leaves behind aunts, counsins, multiple friends and her life partner, Dominic.

Previously, she was married to James (Jim) McCloskey and step-mother to his daughter, Laura. Jim proceeded her in death in 2015.

Brenda graduated from West Springfield High School in 1969 and served with Fairfax County Government for 32 years.

Brenda's greatest loves were her children and her grandbabies. She loved yellow roses and Boyd Bears.  Never one to let the hardness of life sway her joy, Brenda collected unicorns as a symbol of life's magic.

Her own magic lives on through her family and friends who grieve her loss which came far, far too soon.

Although two very different people we shared more than a middle name. . .our love for our offspring and their children. Never comfortable meeting new people and alway fearful of intruding, I'll never forget how friendly and gracious you were when you invited me to join you all for Tina's wedding dress fitting before our kids married. As the mother of 3 boys, something I never would have gotten to do otherwise. Thank you.
