I remember when my twin brother & I were just kids, Mum would allow us to miss a day of school to go grocery shopping with her, We looked forward to this day every month not because we got to miss school but it was always that time we got to spend quality time with our mother in town. At that time we had usually lived far in the country so outings in town were scarce. I recall going to either the CO-OP on Queen St or we'd go to the old IGA in the Chtown mall. At that time the store was very small and the aisles were named after streets in Chtown such as Kent St, University Ave, Grafton St, etc. Each and every time after we finished shopping we would usually finish our outings with a visit to the Zellers restaurant for a bite to eat. How I miss these days.
