The daughter of the late Willie Jenkins and Eva Mae Jenkins Thomas Fogg, Mrs. Devoes was born in Columbus, GA and was a 1969 graduate of the George W. Carver High School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she served as an Ushers. She was employed with Kaiser Warren Co. for several years before serving as a secretary at the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Devoes.

Survivors include: her husband, Alfred Devoes; a daughter, Melody Powell (Leonard); two grandchildren, Cornelius and Malcolm Powell; a great grandchild, Charlie Ray Powell; a brother, William Jenkins; two sisters, Barbara Humber McCoy(Melvin) and Felecia Rush; an aunt, Ruby Scott; a godson, DeVonte Tyner; loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
