Brenda Joyce Saunders Elliott, 75, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away September 27, 2018 at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

Brenda was a native of Granville County and was the daughter of the late George Samuel Watkins Saunders and Anna Breedlove. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, worked at Burlington Mills and farmed most of her life.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Grassy Creek Baptist Church by Nathan Black and Rev. Cameron Currin. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-four years, Bobby Lee Elliott Sr., of the home, three daughters, Teresa Elliott of Bullock, Penny Elliott Coats (Christopher) of Oxford, Tammy Elliott Lewis (Opie) of Oxford, two sons, Bobby “Shortie” Elliott Jr. (Sherry) of Bullock, George “ Tommy”  Elliott of Bullock, 7 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Alma Lee Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Redd.

Visitation will be held at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, October 1, 2018 and at other times at the home.
