Brent Ray Hartzog, Sr. was a caring son, brother, uncle, father, and friend. He left us to join his mother, Parrie Lou Hartzog, suddenly on March 5, 2022 at the young age of 67.

He was born to Parrie Lou and Billy Ray Hartzog on November 9, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from Vestavia Hills High School, he attended Jacksonville State University and spent the remainder of his life in Birmingham. Brent was a kind and generous man with a great heart. He loved the simple pleasures in life from walks in the park, fishing, going to the movies, spending time with his son and grandkids, taking his daughter to Waffle House, and ending the day with a bowl of ice cream and the Andy Griffith show. With a contagious laugh, he could light up any room and never met a stranger.

He is survived by son Brent Ray Hartzog, Jr., daughter Elizabeth Eve Hartzog, grandchildren Vance and Lilly Hartzog, father Billy Ray Hartzog, sister Cathy Hartzog Dobbins, aunt Martha Watkins, nephews Drew and Matt Dobbins, and many other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on March 17, 2022 at Elmwood Cemetery (Mausoleum). Brent will be forever in our hearts.
