He attended school on the big Island and graduated from Pahoa High School in 2000 with honors in math.

He worked at Midas, Mervyns, and Toys R Us until he joined the California National Guard in 2003.

From the day Brian came into his world he was very independent and always had a smile on his face. He walked and talked very early. He was a quick learner.
Being raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. Brian loved the water. Swimming, fishing was his favorite thing to do. Raising animals was also another one of his hobbies. He would go to school and come home to his pets and enjoyed hanging with friends. Which he always had many. His personality drew people to him. He was funny, kind, a prankster and truly loved people. His family was everything to him. He always was the one to coordinate some kind of family gathering even if it was something as simple as playing video games or a barbeque. Just as long the family was together that is all that mattered. He was also the peace maker. If his brothers were mad at each other he would always find a way to get them to forgive and move on. Brian himself was a forgiving person. He would always say let it go. Even when he was hurt he didn't hold on to it. He would always forgive and let it go.

He would help a stranger. He would stop and buy food for someone if they were hungry. Help a motorist if they were stranded, give a ride to someone or anything he could help another human being with. If he was able. He would do it. And always with a smile on his face. Brian carried the Aloha spirit with him no matter where he was. He never forgot where he came from and was very proud of his heritage.

Being in the military was what Brian wanted from a young age. His grandfather, uncles, aunt were military.

He was proud of his service to his country. He had a great deal of respect for all those in uniform. He knew the risks and the struggles of his career. But he embraced it with hard work and a smile on his face.. He met great people, traveled, and learned great skills. He loved God, country and his fellow soldiers. When he became a Sargent that was one of the happiest days of his life. And had a lot of great dreams he wanted to accomplish. And had great plans for his future.

There is so much I can say about Brian . I could go on and on.

But the most important thing about Brian wasn't the things he did or what he had in this life but who he was. Those who had the opportunity to know him best loved him with all their hearts. He had a wonderful spirit and soul. His care and love for others was sincere. He was kind, generous, a peace maker, prankster, and funny, always with a smile or a silly grin on his face. He was such a wonderful human being all 32 years of his life. Everyone that he cared for was everything to him. He would do everything he could to make those around him happy and comfortable. He loved his family. And we will always love him. He is missed more than you can imagine. OHANA MEANS FAMILY. NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND OR FORGOTTEN.. It is not just a saying from a movie. It is a fact that holds true for us on the Islands. We will always carry the love and wonderful memories we have for him until we meet again.
