Obituary

October 22, 2013

On the afternoon of October 17, 2013, Bruce passed away while on his boat fishing with his good friend, Kyle Devaney, in Lake Mead as a result of heart attack due to previously unknown cardiovascular disease. Bruce was 55 years old.

Bruce Bailes was born in the town of Long Beach, California on September 6, 1958. He was the first child, and only son, of Rex Sheridan Bailes and Barbara Ann Johnson. He had a younger sister as well, Brenda Chloe Bailes.

As a child, Bruce could often be found fishing with his father. They had a cabin on Lake Arrowhead and would be sure to get to the lake before the sun came up. Even into his early adulthood, as he moved around Southern California, he could often be found fishing in Lake Arrowhead.

At age 21, Bruce relocated to Palmdale, California, where he resided for 18 years. While living in Palmdale, he met and married Kirsten Elizabeth Craig. On August 11, 1982, the two gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, Bryan Sheridan Bailes. 4 years later, on September 13, 1986, they gave birth to a second child, a beautiful daughter, Lacey Leanne Bailes.

Bruce and Kirsten were married from 1987 until 1995. Together, the family would spend vacations and free time fishing at Lake Silverwood and Mammoth Lakes, California.

In December 1994, Bruce and family relocated to the beautiful Las Vegas suburb of Henderson, Nevada. He spent most of his free time fishing on Lake Mead, and became a self-proclaimed "fisherman extraordinaire", although nobody who knew him would deny his expertise.

In March 2005, Bruce became a grandfather. His daughter, Lacey, gave birth to a baby girl, Kylee Alexis Ybarra. He was a loving grandfather and enjoyed playing games and spending time with his granddaughter.

In 2008, at age 47, Bruce fell in love with Tse "Irene" "Bea" Heung Yuk due to a shared passion for seafood and other hobbies. The two remained in a loving relationship through the remainder of Bruce's life.
