Archie Lee “Buck” Oakley, 66, a longtime resident of Creedmoor passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Durham Regional Hospital.
A native of Granville County, the widower of Mary Helen Miller Oakley and the son of the late Raymond and Prudie Brogden Oakley. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from farming.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, June 11th in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Terry Hall and Rev. Vernon Wilkerson. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are three daughters, Penny Leigh Oakley (Al) of Stem, Helen Oakley Thorpe(Barry) of Berea, Tina Oakley Lane(Jason) of Oxford ,four grandsons , A.J. Ragland, Ryan Ragland, Cameron Thorpe, Jacob Lane and one granddaughter, Makayla Lane, two sisters, Peggy O. Norwood of Northside and Margaret O. Baker of Creedmoor.
Visitation 7:00-8:30 PM Sunday evening June 10th 2012 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home of Helen Thorpe.
Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the Oakley Family.
