Mrs. Bukola Bolajoko Olafisan, was born to the Jones family of Igbore in Abeokuta on the 31st of March 1967 by late Mr. Funsho Jones and Mrs. Viola Atoke Jones. She is the eldest of three children.
She attended Trinity Nursery and Primary school in Abeokuta between 1970 and 1976; Abeokuta Girls Grammar School between 1977 and 1982 ; Ogun state Polytechnic Abeokuta between 1982 and 1984; University of Lagos between 1984 and 1989 and Federal University of Technology Owerri between 2002 and 2004. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from the University of Lagos and a Masters of Business Administration (Project Management) from the Federal University of Technology Owerri.
Bukola Bolajoko Olafisan, nee Jones, was a trainee in Chevron Lagos in 1986 and Mobil Producing Lagos in 1987. She did her NYSC Shell in Warri between 1990 and 1991. She then worked in the Exploration Department of Shell in Port Harcourt between April 1991 and June 1992. She joined NNPC – IDSL Benin by middle of 1992. While in NNPC, she worked in in sundry sections at diverse times like -IDSL Benin, IDSL Port Harcourt, NAPIMS Lagos and COMD Lagos up till her death.
A deaconess and an ordained minister of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), she also attended the RCCG School of Disciples and RCCG Bible College. Until she was called home to glory at 1:30pm on the 1st of October 2020, she was the head of the welfare department of the RCCG – Prince of Peace Parish, Badore, Ajah, Lagos.
She is the founder and chairperson of Bukola Olafisan Foundation ( BOF ) with a motto of “Affecting Humanity Through Giving”. The foundation was founded on Galatians 6:10 which says “Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith”. Her objectives for the foundation were to empower and support widows, orphans and the hungry at the same time leading them to the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ. She was a covenant daughter of Zion, a giver and a strong believer. She was a friend to the mothers of most of her friends. As a gift to humanity, she touched lives with forever living testimonies.
Beautiful Bukola met her husband, in 1991 in Port Harcourt and the got married on the 23rd of September 1995. She was a committed and loving wife and biological mother of two wonderful children. She was friendly and jovial with infectious smile. Loving and charming, she had a disarming smile. Very detailed and meticulous, she was extremely loyal to her friends as most of them dates back to secondary schools and undergraduate days. She was the pillar, strategist and chief planner of the Wale & Bukola Olafisan Dynasty. Her hobbies included reading, photography, advising and counselling of teenagers and young adults and travelling.
To her husband of 25 years, she was Bukola My Wife (BMW) , “big mummy” to some, “Bukky “ to some, and “parish mummy” to others. She is survived by the husband and soul mate – Engr. Wale Olafisan, a daughter – Miss OreOluwa, a son – Master Oluwanifemi, aged mother – Mrs. Atoke Viola Jones and two junior bothers – Olumide and Seun.
