Caitlin Khrystyne Lake, 22, of Cowgill, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 15, 2021, near Richmond.

Caitlin was born on July 31, 1998, in Liberty, the daughter of Jerry Lee Lake and Tamara “Tammy” (Tackett) Hemenway.

Survivors include: her parents; four brothers, Trevor Tackett (Bethany) of Warsaw, Devon Lake of Excelsior Springs, Tyler Hemenway of St Louis County and Nicolas Hemenway; one sister Makayla Hamilton of Trenton; paternal grandmother, Laura Lake of Excelsior Springs; maternal grandfather, James Tackett of Ray County; maternal grandmothers, Eugina (Bob) Bailey of Richmond, and Brenda (Wes Crawford, Sr.) of Richmond; paternal grandmother, Sadie Acker of Richmond; and five nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Larry Lake, Sr., aunt, Carolyn McCrary uncle, Artie True, and her nephew, Esper Tackett.

Caitlin was educated in the Excelsior Springs school.  She loved to sing and once tried out for America’s Got Talent.  Caitlin loved fishing and having adventures.  She was very spontaneous and a free spirit; she was a Leo.  Caitlin was an avid rock hunter, loved finding arrowheads, painting, and drawing.  She had no filter, was a firecracker, and an all-around sassy girl.  Caitlin loved her friends, family, her little sister, and her dog, Bentley.  She was beautiful inside and out and will be dearly missed by all who knew her
