His Life
July 28, 2016

Mr. Smith was born in Carrollton, Georgia on September 17, 1949, the son of the late Eva Mae Henly Smith and Harold Smith. He attended The Lighthouse Church in Tallapoosa, Georgia, and was a retired maintenance worker for the Carrollton Housing Authority, but had also worked for the Franklin Furniture Store in Franklin, Georgia for many years. He was a gifted machinist and could repair any type of small engine. Fishing was his favorite past time. Nothing pleased him more than being on the river bank with his pole in the water! He was also a big Falcons Football Fan, loved watching wrestling, and listening to Elvis Pressley music. He was a loving husband and father who devoted his life to providing for them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Ann Harris Smith; son, Robert Smith; both of West Point, GA.; one sister, Patricia Ann Rooks of Palmetto, GA.; one brother, Billy Smith (Deborah) of Villa Rica, Ga.; two beloved granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
