His Life

Mr. Calvin (Mat) Hunter was born to the late Eugene and Addlene Hunter on March 22, 1959, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Russell.

At an early age he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in New Site, Alabama. He was a 1976 graduate of New Site High School. He was also a member of the United States Army.

On March 8, 2012, God dispatched an angel to Adams Nursing Home in Alexander City, Alabama, to bring Calvin home to eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons: Mr. Antonio L. Vines, Alexander City; AL and Mr. Justice Hunter, Dadeville, AL; a daughter-in-law, Syrenthia Vines; two brothers: Mr. Ralph Hunter, Daviston, ALand Mr. Frankie Crayton, Jackson Gap, AL; a sister-in-law, Theresa Hunter; four sisters: Ms. Teresa Hunter, Birmingham, Al; Mrs. Tammy Brooks, Midway, AL; Ms. Jacqueline Grant, New Site, ALand Mrs. Sandra Benson, Birmingham, Al; two brother-in-laws, Mr. Otis Tarver and Mr. Johnny Benson; three uncles: Mr. Willie (Mary) Hunter, Alexander City, Al; Mr. Melvin (Lynn) Wyckoff, Cleveland, OH and Mr. Rufus Wyckoff, Jr., Alexander City, AL; one great uncle: Rev. Tommie Jenkins, Alexander City, AL; three aunts: Mrs. Carolyn Williams, Alexander City, Al; Mrs. Anita Toler, Cleveland, OH and Mrs. LaRuth Hunter, New Site, AL; five nephews; Caderrick Hunter, Montgomery, Al, Lamar Hunter, Nolanville, TX, Jeremy Brooks, Camp Hill, AL, Charles Russell, Jr., Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Eric Grant, New Site, AL; nieces; Lydia and Frenchie Hunter, Alexander City, AL, Brandie and Victoria Hunter, Birmingham, AL, Lasheka Pulliam, Opelika, Al and a devoted niece, LaShona Hunter; a devoted and loving cousin, Mrs. Rosie Lee Swindle; a special friend, Ms. Arnette Little, Houma, LA and a host of other relatives and friends.
