I remember meeting the captain Swedish knight grand chief of vikings (not of H-F high) and VP of Operations as a Homewood Illinois neighborhood boy scout back in 1970. I was delivering Christmas wreath or garland the Frantzve family had ordered, with the hope of meeting Kimberly at the door. However, I was told that she was out on a date mid-week that evening. But Kim and I took the same classes and rode the same school bus to and from high school, so that did not matter. Over the years, I came to conclude that Kimberley and Kendra were one and the same person. I stand corrected now. Also, I tip my hat to the aging Miss Arizona runner-up Erika. Such a friendly family (including Kent) you will never find again.

I met Mr. Frantzve a couple of times when he visited one of his daughters in Hollywood, CA. We would by chance briefly chat in the hall way as he was either headed to his daughter's apartment or leaving his daughter's apartment. He was taller than me and of course my gaze had to rise upwards when we met.  But what stuck in my mind the most, as I would introduce myself to him on each occasion, was the direct eye contact he would give as I introduced myself and that firm, very firm, but not over the top, hand shake we would exchange.  He always gave me his fullest attention with his direct eye contact without wavering, with his wife right by his side, as we greeted each other and exchanged a few words. Just in those brief moments we shared on occasion he earned the same respect as I held for my own father, and yet we never broke bread together. As he may visit his children from time to time as parent's might do, I hope he'll fly by my way and grab my attention with that firm handshake I so well remember.

I was just thinking about your mom and dad yesterday. The fun times we had together. Like Gurnee picnic or hanging around the club. Whenever I picture them they have big smiles on their faces. Always in my heart ❤️

Today Elaine, Kim and I had breakfast together and while we were talking about you a ray of light came through the ceiling window and lit up your wife, was that you? Miss you.

Loving thoughts go out to honor my wonderful Dad today in what would have been his 95th birthday. I miss his traditional singing a Swedish birthday song to each of us when our birthdays rolled around. Kim and I were fortunate enough to go to Sweden with my parents and we were able see where it all began, the house he was born in. So many great memories of him overwhelm me with emotion. I've wanted to write something here for the last 3 months but it's been difficult to reach deep inside my heart and share without breaking down and fearing I might have a hard time snapping back.

He taught us by example of how to treat people with respect and compassion. He was always a gentleman and a gentle man. We were blessed to live in such a loving home environment. I know my parents were a match made in heaven and even my friends would tell me how lucky I was because their homes had so much fighting going on. People like my Dad are far and few between.

He taught me how to ride a bike, shoot hoops, go fishing at our cabin and my most favorite thing was throwing a football with him when the weather was nice. I sure could throw a mean spiral! I even remember a trip or two to the racetrack, just us, when I was quite young.

He was full of integrity and if he promised something he would follow through and do it. I never remember him lying or getting mad at me unless I deserved it. I once was stuck in an airport overnight when I was about 21 and I called my parents from there to get sympathy but my Dad said, "Karla, need to be like a willow and bend." He didn't need a lot of attention and was rather quiet but he was an excellent public speaker.

My Dad will be forever missed and forever loved and forever a part of me. ❤️ Karla

My fondest memories of Uncle Ken was that he always had a smile on his face. He touched my heart as well as others with his sweet kindness and caring. I can remember when I was little and spent the night at the Frantzve's house and the next morning Uncle Ken made Karla and I Hot Cocoa (from scratch). I don't know how he made it but it was the best hot cocoa I had ever had. And the most precious thing he did was to sing "Happy Birthday" in Swedish either in person at Birthday parties or over the phone. You are forever in my heart and memories. You can be sure my Mom will be waiting for you with open arms in Heaven. Special prayers of healing and a lifetime of memories for Aunt Elaine, Kent, Kendra, Kim and Karla. Forever missed but never forgotten.

I believe Ken installed me as Chief of Sigurd Lodge 30, in Kenosha in 1978 and here 38 years later I'm still the Chief. He must have did a good job. I do remember him as being a very kind and humble man. God bless you Ken and now your in Vallhala with the rest of the Vikings.

Mr. Frantzve was in my life for a very short time. I spent time him while I was in high school visiting my best friend, Kim. He always had a smile on his face and always took the time to chat. I remember one day playing the slot machine in their basement. He kept feeding me quarters until I won. He winked at me and said, "You are one lucky girl. You'll go far." I did feel lucky that day... mostly because I was welcomed in the Frantzve home. I think it is a wonderful tribute to the man, that although I didn't know him well, his kindness, both in action and word, has remained with me for almost half a century! My warm thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. Kim (Verner) Wise

I felt honored and blessed to assist with the care of Ken late in his life - such a gentleman and he exuded a sense of calm and peace. I admired his strong devotion to his loving and caring wife of so many years. Many happy memories of playing their favorite music in the evenings and Ken keeping up the rhythm and beat. Also his enjoyment of YouTube song recordings and visuals of legendaries on my ipad such as Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra and their entertaining banter! May the beat go on!

My favorite memories of Uncle Ken revolve around lodge get togethers. At the club learning to square dance or play bunko and Gurnee picnic. My dad (Ray Anderson) would pick up prizes and Uncle Ken would help direct the races. The 3 legged race, jumping in the burlap sack or just running. We loved running the races with Kimmy and Karla. Another vivid memory was my dad and Uncle Ken bowling together. Such good friends. As I close my eyes and picture him I will always remember a very good kind gentle sweet man with a smile on his face. My thoughts and love are with Aunt Elaine, Kent, Kendra, Kim, Karla and all his grandchildren. He was an amazing man and I will always love him.

Uncle Ken was a happy fixture in my life since I was a child. He was always very kind to me. Part of his charm was his calmness in all situations. I always admired him and looked upon him as a role model for being a man and being a father. Prayers and best wishes for Aunt Elaine, Kent, Kendra, Kim, and Karla.

I only knew Ken in the last season of his life and over the year and a half we did spend together... it was special, what a great Man. I miss his kindness, laughter, singing with him, the way he would gently squeeze your hand to express his affection. "I've been eating Olga's oatmeal almost every morning thinking of you Ken! ❤️️Love and miss you my friend.

Our dad was our own Swedish Royal Knight. He provided for us, protected us and supported us throughout or lives. He will be greatly missed, however his life was very rich and rewarding, not only to himself, but to all those who knew him. His memory will be with us forever...a flame that will continue to burn, lighting the way as we continue our journey down life's path.

I remember Ken coming to Kenosha many years ago and installing me as the Chief of Sigurd Lodge, he must have did a good job because I am still Chief and was recently elected Grand Vice Chief of the Independent Order of Vikings in Jamestown, NY. Anyway Ken was a great man and I’m sure he is missed by all.
