Carl Mathew Marx Sr., (73), of Wheaton passed away peacefully on March 25, 2017 in Wheaton, IL.
Carl was born in Chicago, IL to Nicholas A. Marx and Eva M. (Schwarz) Marx on March 27, 1943. He married Shirley Ann (Sugg) Marx on January 31, 1970 in Orland Park, Illinois. He worked in Insurance for CNA insurance for many years. He was a veteran who served in the Navy and was stationed in Illinois;, Maryland; Paris, France; and Stuttgart, Germany. While in Europe, he dedicated much of his freetime helping out with the local orphanage. He was very involved in Boy Scouts of America as Packmaster, Church Youth Group leadership, Blinded Veterans Association, Disabled American Veterans, and participated as a Disabled Veteran in Golf and Paralympics.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents and brother Nicholas.
Carl is survived by his wife of 47 years Shirley, daughter Renee and husband Todd, son Carl Jr. and wife Sara, his daughter Michelle, brother Dr. Robert E. Marx and wife Virginia, and grandchildren: Jacob, Rebekah, Abby, Caleb, Ryan, Kayla and Max.
