Carlton Bryant Fowler, 79, a long time resident of Creedmoor died Friday, October 1st at Durham Region Hospital .
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Mack L. and Lillian Gooch Fowler. He served in the US Army, attended Gooch Memorial Primitive Baptist Church in Stem, Manager of Dutchville Builders Supply for 49 years, a member of Creedmoor Lions Club for 50 years, secretary-treasurer for 39 years and Creedmoor City Commissioner for 26 consecutive years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, October 4, 2010 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Elder Donald Smith and Dr. Gerald Goodwin. Burial will be in Bullock Cemetery in Stem.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Eleanor Murray Fowler of the home, two sons, David(Phyllis) and Donald(Kara), all of Durham, five grandchildren, Kristen, Kelley, Kalyn, Carl and Sophie, all of Durham, a sister, Alice F. Gordan of Roxboro and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sons, William, Johnnie and Carlton Lewis and a sister, Edith F. Averette.

Visitation 12:30-2:00 PM Monday, October 4th 2010 prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
