Dear Sister Vera,

Remembering you for all the good times we had living in Guyana as neighbors back in the 1950 and early 60"s which to me was more like living like family, I remember how you and my mother got along so well that Moms (mother Audrey as she was called) became God mother to one of your children (Sonia), I remember growing up from childhood to a young adult I could of come to you and discuss anything I need to know and your advise was always reasonable and inspiring, you are dearly missed by all continue to Rest In Eternal Peace having a wonderful Birthday with your Lord and Savior.

Dearest Sister Vera,
Happy 99th Heavenly Birthday! I know the heavens are a tad bit brighter because you are there ! I imagine your laughter ringing through the air like champagne bubbles catching a ride on a rainbow. My vivid memories of you in Guyana is wrapped up in the warmth of your radiant smile and the overflow of the love from your heart that quickly enveloped us the moment we crossed your threshold. The timber of your voice is stamped in my mind because it had the perfect mix of sincerity and humor! You embodied creativity, love, joy, family, unconditional acceptance and I cherish all of the moments we were able to spend with you. Rest well Queen and in eternal peace . Love always❣️

THERE IS A FREEDOM IN THE WILDERNESS.

OF THE OCEAN AND THE WAVE.

THAT NEITHER HALTS NOR WAVERS.

NOR SEEKS THE SURGE TO STAVE.

BUT RATHER WITH ABANDON THROWS

ITSELF ITSELF UPON THE SHORE.

AND THUS, IN GIVING ALL AWAY, IT

BECOMES YET MORE.

SO MAY THAT SAME ABANDON HAVE IT'S

WAY WITH YOU.

MAY ALL YOU HAVE AND ALL YOU GIVE.

FLOW FROM THE HEART SO FREE.

THAT NEVER IS THERE LESS, BUT ALWAYS

ONLY MORE TO THE RHYTHM OF THAT

INWARD TIDE ON YOUR ETERNAL SHORE.

My Beloved Mother! What a Woman! What a void you have left behind.

You are a Legend!! The mould was broken when you were created, there isn't ,and could never be another like you.

This candle is lit today to celebrate your 99th Birthday. With love in our hearts and immense grief we so wish you were still here with us. But it's obvious that the Heavenly Father had better things prepared for you to do beside him.

You are a Legend!! The mould was shattered when you were created, there could never, ever be another like you.

You have left so much of yourself behind, when you were called to fulfilled your ultimate occupation serving our Dear Lord.

Your Legacy will live on in each and everyone of us so sadly left behind. As we are all part of you.

"Dearest Beloved Mother" I shall continue to love you for the rest of my life and beyond with joy in my heart, knowing that the day is rapidly approaching when we shall meet once again to continue our special relationship.

Grief is so difficult to cope with, but I know that you are looking down on all of us and keeping us safe.

" Rest in Eternal Peace" My Beloved, until we meet again..

Dear Granny,

Today you would have been 99 years young. I was certain that we would be celebrating your 100th in a grand fashion but God had other plans. It’s with a burdened heart and unceasing tears I wish you a Happy Heavenly Birthday. On this day exactly 365 days ago you celebrated your 98th birthday with me and the rest of the family. Had I known that February 19th, 2020 was the last day I would ever kiss your cheek and feel your warmth. Feed you, hold your soft hands and look into your loving eyes I WOULD HAVE NEVER LET GO!

Granny you were my tower of strength, comfort and hope. As far back as I can recall, you were the face I saw. YOU were the one I ran to when I was hurt, when I needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. YOU were there for my every need and I could never abandon that unconditional love you’ve shown me and all the valuable lessons you've taught me. Over the years in my quiet time I have acknowledged that if not for your presence in my life only God knows. I am most grateful that I had the opportunity to share with you how much you have truly impacted my life just as you did for countless other family and friends.

Vera Battice it’s BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME, I’m able to be the woman I am today. It’s because of your stern and valuable parental style I’m able to be the proud wife and mother I am. Because you loved me, I dared to dream, to overcome obstacles thrown my way and reach for the absolute best. All those lessons you instilled in me I will never depart from. Deviating from them would only mean that I’m devaluing a great legacy of love, confidence, faith, hope, trust, vision, ambition, strength and I could go on and on. Those things are dear to me and I would NEVER LET GO!

Happy Heavenly Birthday Granny! As you dance and celebrate with Albert Battice, grand dad, Mussy, Peter, Eustace, Sexy, Cousin Eve, Mavis, Florie, Christine, Neville and all the wonderful family and friends. I hope you know that here on earth we will continue to celebrate YOU each and every day of our lives. Your Legacy will live on in all of your children, grand children, great and great great grands. Chelsea and Mason love and miss you immensely and asks about you quite often.

Like Georgia granny, YOU ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND. I love you, Sleep in Peace my Queen Mother, always in my heart.

Dear Mum

Today I celebrate your 99 birthday without you here but I can still see and hear you, and always will. Thank you for my life, your love and for letting me be part off this great family that you created.

Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay,
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
he only takes the best,
Although your heart stopped beating,
Your love will always remain,
Your absence puts upon our hearts,
A very heavy strain.
For now you are in a place of everlasting rest,
We just have to understand that God,
He only takes the best.

We miss you dearly.

Dearest Granny

Tonight I Light a Candle and say a Prayer because I know your Love will continue to Light The Way.

I pray you'll be our eyes, And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise, In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, When we lose our way

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us Faith so we'll be safe

I pray we'll find your light, And hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night, Remind us, where you are.
Let this be our prayer, When shadows fill our day

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

A world where pain and sorrow will be ended
And every heart that's broken will be mended
As we remember, we are all God's Children
Reaching out to touch you, Reaching to the Sky.

We ask that life be kind, And watch us from above
We hope each soul will find, Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer, Just like every child,
Need to find a place, Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Love Michelle

her Life

Happy Heavenly 99th Birthday Carmen Vera King - Our Family Matriarch and Legend.

Today we are gathered to participate and pay a well-deserved "Birthday Tribute" in memory of my MUM! Carmen Vera King (Nee Battice).

A Phenomenal Amazing Woman, who sadly departed from us ten months ago, leaving us all Deeply Grief Stricken and Heartbroken.

Mum was born, Carmen Vera Battice, on 22nd February 1922: A native of British Guiana. In her early life she enjoyed a rich and exciting life, boasting many friends and even more acquaintances. She begun from an early age to demonstrate her aptitude for dress making, and went on to become an outstanding seamstress. She thereafter established her career as the renowned seamstress she became.

Mum was also very well known for her sometimes elaborate culinary skills. She became the proud Mother of four offspring:-

Margaret, Colin, Lenny and Sonia.

Mum continued being a seamstress while raising her family and one could always count on having a great time in her company, especially when a party was planned. Her acclaimed career path was of such, that her clients were always prepared to sit and wait, sometimes in their underwear for lengthy periods, until their garments were taken off the sewing machine, and she could dress them (especially brides).

Mum impacted many lives, and there was always someone at the house, who would wait patiently to seek her advice, counsel and guidance. She was always in demand.

After my Dad departed, many, many years prior, Mum continued to support her family single handily. Mum has along her life's journey acquired ten grandchildren; Andrew, Aubrey, Michelle, Peter, Dacia, Muse, TsiTsi, Aisha, Kadia and Osaze. Sadly both Peter and Muse were called home to Eternal Rest much sooner than our family had anticipated. Despite this, mum continued to be her stoic self in supporting her family through these losses and maintaining a sense of normality, love and togetherness for which she is fondly known.

Mum is survived and celebrated by her four children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grand children and her six great great grandchildren.

HER Legacy is undisputed and will embrace us all until the day we join her. We will never forget her.

Her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Cousins, and a multitude of friends and acquaintances will be able to hold onto everlasting memories of this Marvelous Phenomenal Woman.

         "My Mum"

"To know her is to love her"
