It is going on two years since you have been gone, I thought it would get easier as the years passed by, but I am still struggling with the thought that you are not here with us physically anymore. Carol I loved you more than words can state, you were the only person that showed me unconditional love and support, no matter the bad choices I made in life, the only solace I have is that you are no longer suffering physically and that you are in a better place.

Love,

Dalei

Carol was such a wonder person and an equally wonderful spiritual sister. I was so heartbroken when I learned of her passing. We will see her soon.

Obituary for Carol Wallace

April 2, 2021

Carol Lynn was born March 31, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents, Floyd Hunter and Lady Lee Jackson. Carol’s early childhood years, along with younger brother, Maurice were spent with their maternal grandparents.

Like many southerners in the 1950s, Carol’s mother migrated north in search of better job opportunities. In 1957, a relocation of the family to Detroit, Michigan resulted. Soon thereafter - in 1961- Carol welcomed another little brother, Arthur, who she affectionately called “Pinky”.

Carol was educated through Detroit’s Public School System – receiving a high school diploma from the High School of Commerce in June 1963. However, later in life she would receive an even “higher education”.

Upon graduation, Carol entered the work force. She gained employment with the City of Detroit as a secretary in the Mayor’s Office. She then received an opportunity to work for Motown Records as an executive secretary to one of its’ producers. That necessitated a move to Louisville, Kentucky. After leaving Motown, she returned to Detroit in 1971 and again found herself a city employee.

The year 1971 was a milestone year for Carol, for it was that year she became a serious and earnest student of the Bible. Her Bible study course led her to the Truth found in God’s Word. Based on that acquired knowledge, she made a decision to become a servant of Jehovah. After prayerfully dedicating her life to Jehovah, she symbolized that dedication by water immersion on April 1, 1972. Thereafter, Carol’s life centered around her worship of God and sharing Bible truths with others.

A second milestone in Carol’s life occurred on August 8, 1981 when she wed a very long-time dear friend and fellow worshipper, Al Wallace! They enjoyed spending time together in the ministry, traveling, dining out, spending time with loved ones. Also, Carol took pleasure in listening to music, dancing, reading, and dressmaking.

Though there were no children born to this union, there often was a little girl “on board” at the Wallace household that Carol had taken under her wings. To name a few, Denise, Dalei, Shellee, and Al’s great niece, Tatiyana whom they helped raised from infancy to high school graduation.

Carol’s life tragically changed on January 9, 2017 due to a medical emergency.  Her overall quality of life diminished – she never fully recovered from that event. On March 11, 2021, Carol peacefully fell asleep in death. In the near future, Carol will be awakened by her God, Jehovah to life everlasting – in perfect health!

Among those longing to see her again will be: Al her devoted husband of 40 years; brothers Maurice Jackson (Janice) and Arthur Shaw III (Cynthia); sister-in-law, Hazel Wallace.  Her nephews: Maurice (Harmony), Anthony (Nicole), Arthur IV and Algie. Her nieces are Pamela, Nakeema and Cassandra and a host of Grand Nieces and Nephews and other relatives throughout the country.
