I remember the patience Carole showed me when helping me with learning to read when I was in elementary school and she was a new teacher. Carole always had something good to say, with a beautiful smile, and it those ways she always reminded me of her mom. What a great cousin! Also, this is a Beautiful tribute you have set up, Bill and Bob!

Words can never express the love we had for her...she was so gentle and kind yet fought so hard....she was one of the main reasons I got into teaching..such a great role model...she is missed daily! Xo

This is the most beautiful and touching tribute I have ever seen. Your Mom would be so proud. The love shown here is only surpassed by the love she had for her family. She was such a large part of my life growing up and looking at all the pictures brings back the love, fun times and happiness we all shared. She will be missed but will live on through her family and the love we all felt for her. God bless Carol and say Hi to Mom and Aunt May. xoxoxox

Last year, I found some old film reels that belonged to Uncle Bernie.  I had them transferred to DVD for my mom who never saw them before.

The first scene is from Christmas, 1939.  We're not sure who the other girl is in this clip.

The other scene is from a family picnic a few years later.....we believe in Farmingville.  From left to right is Aunt Lou, Ferdinand Coleman, Carole, Hall and May Coleman.  We're not sure who the other people are.  If anyone knows, please drop me a line and we'll update the site.

Note: This site slightly digitized the video when it was uploaded.  If you would like to see a better quality video with some additional footage of Uncle Bernie/Aunt Lou, please click this link:  http://share.yesvideo.com/?inv=5272910b45859b90ec001f07#/guest/shared/5272910b45859b90ec001f06/chapter/5272910b45859b90ec001f08

The Women Of The Family

November 27, 2014

"The Women of The Family" was the title on the back of this photo.  I remember mom always talking about this photo.  It was a point of conversation since a family friend in the background had too much to drink that day and is the background, leaning up against the tree with bottle in hand.

Perhaps this "photo bomb" is the first of its day.

Carole as a girl with (Left to Right): Minnie Wachter (Lou's mother), Lou (Wachter) Coleman, Evelyn (Nordhorn) Flanagan, Anna (Ostertag) Behrens May (Nordhorn) Coleman - Background: Johnny Gardiner....a friend of the family
