Mom's Christmas from 1939 and Family Picnic
Last year, I found some old film reels that belonged to Uncle Bernie. I had them transferred to DVD for my mom who never saw them before.
The first scene is from Christmas, 1939. We're not sure who the other girl is in this clip.
The other scene is from a family picnic a few years later.....we believe in Farmingville. From left to right is Aunt Lou, Ferdinand Coleman, Carole, Hall and May Coleman. We're not sure who the other people are. If anyone knows, please drop me a line and we'll update the site.
Note: This site slightly digitized the video when it was uploaded. If you would like to see a better quality video with some additional footage of Uncle Bernie/Aunt Lou, please click this link: http://share.yesvideo.com/?inv=5272910b45859b90ec001f07#/guest/shared/5272910b45859b90ec001f06/chapter/5272910b45859b90ec001f08
Carole's Birthday Party
The Women Of The Family
"The Women of The Family" was the title on the back of this photo. I remember mom always talking about this photo. It was a point of conversation since a family friend in the background had too much to drink that day and is the background, leaning up against the tree with bottle in hand.
Perhaps this "photo bomb" is the first of its day.
Carole as a girl with (Left to Right): Minnie Wachter (Lou's mother), Lou (Wachter) Coleman, Evelyn (Nordhorn) Flanagan, Anna (Ostertag) Behrens May (Nordhorn) Coleman - Background: Johnny Gardiner....a friend of the family
