Carol Velke was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 23, 2021 at age 85.
After graduating from school, Carol started her career at Borden Dairy Products in NYC. She then met the love of her life Raymond Velke. Together, they had 5 children and settled in NJ.
She was an active member of the community. She was a member of the PTA, a girl scout leader and fondly remembered as the “lunch lady” at Land O’ Pines and Ramtown Elementary schools. In her retirement community she was the Mayor’s liason, a trustee and member of their board. She volunteered her time as a caregiver/shopper to many elder residents in her town.
Predeceased by her husband, Raymond Velke. Survived by her children, Donna Mayrose, Raymond (Tammy) Velke, Lorraine (Dennis) Deehan, Paul (Lisa) Velke, Kathy (Jeff) Seaman, 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Please join Carol’s family at the Lakewood Funeral Home, Friday, June 25th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Followed by a mass at Holy Family Church in Lakewood at Noon. Interment immediately following at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital. Memories are encouraged to be shared on her tribute page.
