Carolyn Ann Satterfield Stroud, 71 a native of Granville County passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center.
Carolyn was born July 21, 1946 in Granville County to the late Charles Gray Dillion and Mary Ella Satterfield. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved taking care of people especially the elderly. Carolyn was a Christian church goer that believed in the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed providing for her loved ones and would give the last penny she had if you needed it. Carolyn was a friend to all who knew her and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Thursday evening, June 28, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Bentley (Valerie) of Efland, Nicholas Bentley of Henderson; sisters, Norma Winstead (Dale) of Rougemont, Jackie Duke (Billy) of Hillsborough, Barbara Boyd (Wade) of Goldston, Dee DeBause of Cary; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard Earl Bentley, her mother, Mary DeBause, father, Charles Gray Dillion and father of her children, Earl Thomas Bentley.
